For instance, we had been dating for 3 months and at some point had gone shopping when Brad wanted some new gym shoes. He had found a pair of Nike Shox that he liked and I had browsed through the women's Shox as well. One Wednesday night, he showed up at my house and handed me the pair of Nike Shox that I had had my eyes on. I was floored! All he said was, "I knew you would never buy them for yourself and I wanted you to have them." What?!? Sweetest. He continues to spoil me in little ways like that ALL the time! The Jessica Simpson boots I had mentioned I liked, the neon pink under armor sweatshirt I had been looking at, the diamond earrings I had said I would love to "some day have for my 2nd earring hole" as my wedding present, and the list goes on and on.
Well, this time...he did it again! One weekend we were at the hardware store and he said, "I want to build you some shoe shelves in that side area in our closet. I think I can get about 8 shoe shelves in there. That way you can have all your shoes in the order you like them." Me...*blank stare* Really?!? Hec yes!!
Brad knows I love my stilettos/heels/boots. You know on Sex and the City when Carrie is looking into the shop window and says, "Hello shoes..." to a gorgeous pair of high heels? Yea...that's me. I have tons of them, in all kinds of colors, and it's really hard for me to say "no" to a pair of colorful heels. I mean, I wear them every day. Yep, I wear my 4-5 inch heels every day to work. I own 3 pairs of flats. I like my heels. I was raised in the south y'all. So when Brad said he wanted to build me shoe shelves to display my shoes, let my OCD kick in and put them in color order, I about skipped to the check out line. Don't worry, he got something out of it too...he got to use his tools! Here's how they turned out!
