Bumpdate ~ Week 13

Bumpdate ~ 13 weeks

This week has held soooo many wonderful things about being pregnant. One, everyone KNOWS!!! What a relief!! It was so much fun to be able to tell all of our family and friends and watch their expressions and reactions. That is definitely a highlight of being pregnant!!

I also cannot even explain the relief I feel now that we have made it to 12 weeks and our 12 week appointment went so well. Hearing Baby's heartbeat was so amazing -  a strong 164 bpm! Then getting to see our sweet little miracle on the screen again has just made a huge burden lift off of my shoulders. Talk about worrying and praying over this baby! Obviously, we still do...but now that we have made it out of the "high risk" trimester, I know we can breathe slightly easier!
______________
  • Week 13
  • Baby is the size of a : kiwi
  • Weight :  0.81 oz. / Length : 2.91 in.
  • Baby can now open and close his/her fists and make sucking movements with the muscles in his/her mouth. All of the intestinal organs are developing into their final form. Baby's lungs are even practicing breathing (only amniotic fluid). Baby is almost 3 inches long from crown to rump!
Gender: Now that everyone knows...everyone has been saying they think it's a boy. All these friends/family just have this "feeling" that baby Bishop is a boy. I still don't know!! We will find out in 7 weeks!

Weight Gain:After my 12 week appointment, I was up to about 10 pounds. The dr. was pretty happy that I was able to gain that much weight and gave me the all clear to work out again!! Now, I just have to keep the weight on!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Pretty much the same: nausea (all day), exhausted, achy lower back, soreness, excessive bathroom breaks, etc. I did start feeling much better around Friday though! Saturday I didn't feel sick at all! Maybe week 14 will bring back some "normal" feeling!

Clothing:  I just cannot fit into my size 0/2 clothes anymore. HA! I finally made the switch to maternity clothes...yes! And why did I not do this earlier?!? SO much more comfortable! My baby bump has kind of popped out this week. Here we go! I got a few things at Old Navy and Gordman's has a small section on Motherhood Maternity where I found some nice dress pants for work. Most of my normal shirts still work, but I do like the longer style that maternity shirts provide. We are going shopping this weekend to find some more!

Food Cravings: I haven't really had any food cravings...except chips and salsa! That I could eat all the time!

Food Aversions: I still don't really feel like eating anything, but I think the feeling of "everything is gross" is starting to get better. I still don't want anything to do with coffee (unless it's a pumpkin spice latte in the afternoon!) Vegetables definitely don't appeal to me either. I have been downing some fruit though!

Movement: Nothing yet. A couple of my friends who are about my size said they felt some flutters around 14-16 weeks. I am hoping I am that lucky!

Sleep: The same...out like a rock as soon as my head hits the pillow! I haven't been taking any naps though.

Best Moment So Far: Seeing our beautiful miracle at our 12 week appointment and hearing the best sound I have ever heard - that little, quick, strong heartbeat!!

Looking Forward to: Feeling our baby fluttering around and finding out if baby is a girl or a boy!
