Falling for Galena

Galena, IL...I've heard of it, we've had friends who recommended it, and we've even had friends who got engaged there. So, when Momma B told us that they had a country craft fair there in October and asked if we would like to make a day out of it, Brad and I both said yes.

Brad and I left here around 8 am and drove the 2 hours over to Galena. It was a really easy drive and once we hit Dubuque, IA and the Mississippi river, we could see fall everywhere. It was so pretty. Iowa is beautiful in it's own way, but I do miss all of the trees! It only took us a few more minutes to get to Galena. We found a spot to park and headed to the fair. Momma B, Dad, and Beth met us up at the fair. Matt and Karen were supposed to come, but unfortunately little Jax was sick. We'll be seeing them this weekend though!

Back to the fair...it was adorable and there were so. many. tents. We ate a ton of good ole' homemade food, bought a few things, and walked around the whole park and downtown Galena. Adorable! It was so nice to spend time with family, enjoy the pretty (but chilly) weather, and find a few new things! We will be back Galena...for a nice get-away weekend for the two of us!
Galena also happens to be the home of Ulysses S. Grant
Cutest fair
Instead of "Where's Waldo?"...we played, "Where's Teri?" Hi-larious
Cute town...awesome/funny shops!
