Bumpdate ~ Week 35

35 weeks. Less than 5 weeks to go. It's hard to believe!! Each week that guys by seems to fly by and then we have one less week till Lil' bit gets here. I'm excited and ready, but want it to slow down...just a smidge. I got the countdown chalkboard I ordered (thanks jane.com for $6) in the mail this week and we have been watching the amount of days just get smaller and smaller! When we hit the 27th, we both looked at each other and said..."one more month!" Eeek!
  • Week 35
  • Baby is the size of a : honeydew melon
  • Weight : 5.25 lb. / Length :  18.19  in.
  •  Baby will start a period of rapid weight gain this week. Baby is gaining brown fat this week that will keep him warm for the first few weeks after birth. Baby doesn't have much room to move around now, but he will still move and have regular movements. His kidneys are fully developed and his liver can process some waste products. Baby's hearing is fully developed and he responds best to high-pitches noises.
Gender: BOY!

Weight Gain: Down 1 pound this week to 31 total.

How I Feel:
  • Stretch marks: None. Whew.
  • Belly button: It looks like 1/4 of it is popped, but a few more bumps of belly button have started to show a little.
  • Other: My back is definitely more achy this week, but I've learned how to regulate what I do so that it's not as bad. I've had a few more nose bleeds this week, but nothing terrible. Still no swelling...thankfully!
How Daddy's Feeling:The hubs is definitely keeping a close eye on me. He checks to see how I'm doing quite a bit and is busy getting his side of things ready for the arrival of our little man!

Cravings: None.

Food Aversions: None.

Movement: Some in the mornings still, some after I eat, hiccups at least 2-3 times a day - and strong hiccups too, and lots of moving around at night after dinner time.

Cute story ~ Belle even noticed all the moving in my tummy on Thursday night. She was laying next to me on the couch and my tummy was moving. She sat up, put her nose on my tummy, and gently nudged the baby a few times! The baby moved a little more and her little nose followed the movements all over the top of my belly! It was so weird and soooo cute! Then she got on Brad's lap, laid her head on top of my tummy and kept it there the rest of the night. She fell asleep, but every time he moved her eyes would open and then she would close them again. It. was. adorable! Sweet Belle.

Sleep: Back to normal sleeping this week...thankfully. Going to bed around 10 pm and sleeping pretty hard until that alarm goes off in the morning. I felt even more tired than normal this week and took naps on Monday and Thursday.

Best Moment This Week: The cutest note from one of my kiddos. See below.

Worst Moment This Week: Not feeling well on Monday and Thursday night. Yuck.

Looking Forward to: This weekend's friend baby shower!!

What I Miss: Bending over and tying my shoes like a normal person.

Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
  •  I was reminded through a conversation with a friend this week at how much of a miracle our lil' bit is. I very vividly remember the emotional roller coaster of trying to get pregnant, getting pregnant, being terrified of miscarrying because of a few reasons, waking up from nightmares about miscarrying, and being so relieved when we finally hit the "safe" time period. I can't thank the Lord enough for keeping our baby and me safe throughout this pregnancy.
  • God is God. God is always good. Even when everything else is bad. I look back at everything we went through and I know it doesn't even begin to compare to what some people have gone through. I can only praise the Lord for His goodness.
  • I just keep thanking God for giving us this miracle and gift!
Diet: Still clean eating 80/20. Although, I will admit to eating a sugar cookie and some chocolate at our Wednesday grade level meeting. Yep, it happened.

Exercise: I missed my Monday night workout this week - which I hated, but I needed the rest. My body was telling me no and my head wanted to push through, but my sweet husband reminded me that I am 9 months pregnant and it's okay if I have more than 1 rest day a week. So this week I lifted weights + 30 minutes f cardio 4 days and  had 1 day of 60 minutes of cardio. I feel pretty good about it and I even upped my weights on shoulders and chest day! Woop!

What's Happening This Week: This week has been pretty normal. The hubs went to the gym by himself on Monday while I slept, Tuesday was back to the normal routine for us, Wednesday the hubs had his Masters class and I went out with all the neighbor ladies, Thursday was pretty standard, and this weekend I will have my "friends" baby shower and we will celebrate our friend Ryan's birthday on Saturday night out at dinner with the group.
