- Week 33
- Baby is the size of a : pineapple
- Weight : 4.23 lb. / Length : 17.20 in.
- Baby's bones are continuing to harden, but his skull is still not solid and the skull bones are not fused together. This allows for baby's head to reduce it's diameter during birth. His brain is developing more distinct functions and is capable of controlling breathing, digestive functions, and body temperature. Baby can also tell the difference between day and night. His lungs are also almost completely developed. If little man came this week, he would need little medical assistance.
Gender: BOY!
Weight Gain: Same as last week...as far as I know.
How I Feel: Still feeling pretty good. Definitely more uncomfortable. I feel like I can't complain at all. After getting through the 1st trimester, this pregnancy has been great for me! No back pain, no swelling, no headaches, no acid reflux, no nothing really. Whew.
- Stretch marks: None.
- Belly button: Still in...but a little section has popped out.
- Other: Braxton Hicks contractions at night - some of them were painful enough to wake me up at night, sore tummy in the morning, and ribs are pretty much always sore (baby is pushing against them more and more as he grows!).
Cravings: None.
Food Aversions: None.
Movement: About the same as last week. Baby moves around in the mornings, gets the hiccups after almost every meal I eat now, and he is very very active at night. I love keeping my hand on my tummy and just feeling him move around! Something newer this week, he's pushing pretty hard on my pelvis.
Sleep: Still sleeping well...if it is frigid in the house. I think I may be freezing the poor hubs to death! We actually turned the AC on this week! Hello hot flashes at night.
Best Moment This Week: Getting through Parent/Teacher Conferences and starting Spring Break this Friday! Woohoo!
Worst Moment This Week: Achy ribs and late nights at Parent/Teacher conferences.
Looking Forward to: Getting tons done over Spring Break!
What I Miss: My normal clothes, eating raw sushi rolls, and rolling over without having to help my tummy move with me!
Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
- I think baby may have dropped. He's awfully low! We shall see what the Dr. says at my next appointment.
- I've been having some bad BH contractions at night, nothing regular - just manageable!
- Nursery, nursery, nursery...that's been on my mind a lot!
- One of my friends asked me this week if I was nervous about delivery. Honestly, I don't think I am! I half way know what to expect, I know I can handle pain - even though it won't be fun. Brad and I have talked about that a lot actually. We both agreed that playing sports, being so disciplined, and pushing my body physically in the gym for the past 10 years has definitely prepared my body and my mind to push through pain and challenge itself. Yes, I realize sports does not equal labor, but at least I have a pretty good idea of how far my body can go...so far!
Exercise: Still getting to the gym 6 days a week. Weight lifting 4-5 days a week with 30 minutes of cardio as well as 1-2 days of 60 minutes of cardio. Still lifting and I even upped some of the weight that I lift! Being prego has not held me back. Yes, I've altered my workouts to account for my growing belly, but other than that - the gym has stayed pretty normal!
What's Happening This Week: This was a long week for me. Monday and Tuesday night I got done teaching at 3:35 pm and then started Parent/Teacher Conferences from 4-8 pm. Yikes. Wednesday, Brad had class, so I went to the gym and then relaxed at home. Thursday my kiddos didn't have school, so us teachers got to work in our room in the mornings and then I was booked solid from 1-4 pm with conferences. It went quick, but it's tiring! Friday starts my Spring Break! This weekend we're looking forward to the Bishop Family Baby Shower and shooting our maternity photos with Sister Karen. Can't wait!
