How HE Found Out He was a Daddy of 2

After I took the "cheap" pregnancy test and saw that it was positive...or at least thought it was positive, I wasn't quite sure what to do. Was I pregnant? I had spotted, so was this a mistake? I just didn't know and I was afraid to get my hopes up. I loved doing something special to tell Brad we were pregnant the first time around, so I wanted this to be fun too. Even if it was just a false alarm.

I hadn't been ready for this! We had thought we would be doing IVF, so having an announcement ready was not on my to-do list. Thankfully, I had bought a t-shirt for Dayton that I had planned to make into a "big brother" shirt using my silhouette machine. I had about 20 minutes before Brad was going to be home, so Dayton and I ran downstairs and I got to work.

It wasn't fancy. It wasn't quite what I had had in mind for a big brother shirt, but I was able to design, cut, and iron the vinyl onto Dayton's t-shirt in about 15 minutes. I threw it on him and then we sat in the living room and waited. I went back and forth, probably about a million times. Should I make a big deal out of this? What if the test is wrong? What if I'm not actually pregnant and I get both of our hopes up? I decided to throw caution to the wind and just go with it. Besides, my hopes were already up in the clouds and I was busting with excitement!

Dayton and I heard the garage door open, so we got ready and as soon as Brad walked in, Dayton did his normal run to "dada" and say "Hi!"

Brad picked him up like always, gave him a hug, and then started talking to him. I was waiting for him to notice his shirt, but he didn't. So all I said was, "Read Dayton's shirt, daddy."

Pause...pause...raised eyebrow.

Looks at me. "Really?"

My response - "I think so?"

After we had the positive test the next morning, the positive blood test, and the raised hormone levels blood test...then we really celebrated!! We're pregnant with baby Bishop #2!!

Side note: I had taken a video... but I can't find it anywhere. Like, it disappeared from my phone. So sad.
