Dayton ~ 4 Months

Dayton Thomas,

You are too precious. Every day that goes by, I can't believe that I get to be your mama. You are such a sweet baby and you are so easy! These 4 months have flown by faster than I ever thought was possible. In a few days I will be heading back to work and you will start daycare. Mama is trying really really hard not to cry my eyes out every time I think about it.

Baby, our lives will never be the same, but that's a good thing! You are the first thing that we think about when we wake up and the last thing we think about when we go to bed. Every morning, we "fight" over who gets to wake you up/get you out of your crib. Your morning smiles are my most favorite thing. You are just a happy little man! Every night, I put you to bed, finish picking up the house, and then I have to check on your before I go to bed. Each night your mama says a prayer by your bed, checks to hear your little breaths, and then gives you a kiss. I love you baby boy.

This month is about to hold a lot of firsts. I don't know if we're quite ready for you to grow up some more, but I know we will love every second of it. We're about to watch you go to daycare, eat rice cereal, maybe roll over?, start veggies, and who knows what else. We love you baby boy, to the moon and back!

Love,
Mama

Size: 17 lb. 0 oz.

Hair: Dark brown - some of your little baby hairs look a little blonde, but your hair is definitely going to be dark.

Eyes: Dark brown.

Teeth: None.

Food: You are a hungry little man! Nursing is still going very well. You normally nurse for about 10-15 minutes on each side every time you eat. Your schedule is about the same: 7 am, 9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 6 pm, and 9 pm. You also take bottles very well. You're just easy!

Sleep: So far, you have made it pretty easy to be a mama. You are sleeping about 11 hours at night. Yes, I said 11. I can't believe it! My 4 month old baby is sleeping 10-11 solid hours. And no, you don't wake up. If you do, it's because something is wrong - like you're sick. We've been putting you to bed between 8-9 pm.

Clothes: 3-6 month clothes. It makes me a little (okay a lot) sad to put your little clothes back into the bins and take out the new, bigger clothes.

Words: None. You do make some hilarious sounds though! You've started this yelling, screech thing. It. cracks. us. up! We have it on video. Your dad was laughing so hard through the whole thing though.

Development/Activity: You are getting much better at tummy time. It cracks me up to watch you try to hold your head up for more than a few seconds. Your head is just so heavy! Your such a chunky little guy. It's like you've figured out that your legs can move, a lot. You kick and kick and kick when you're on the floor. It's pretty cute.

Temperament: You're just a happy baby. You really are that easy. You're cranky when you're hungry and tired. That's it!

Likes:I haven't really found anything that you absolutely don't like. You like playing on your mat, lying in your swing, jumping in your bouncer, going for walk and runs, standing on our laps, and looking all around you. You're starting to notice so many more things now!

Dislikes: You still don't love a binky. I don't know if you ever will! Like I said before, you're only cranky when you're tired or hungry!

Small Moments: Cuddles. I love it when you fall asleep in my arms. I will never ever get tired of cuddling with you while you sleep. I love it when you're nestled in my arms and you look up at me. You're just so sweet. When you fall asleep, I love looking at all your little pieces. Your skin is so soft and clear, your eyelashes are so long, and your little hands usually are wrapped around my finger or are grabbing my shirt. It melts my heart!

Month to Month:

Ah! How are you growing up so fast??
