Charleston Vaca Day 1

Oh Charleston...I love you. Throughout all of our trips this summer, my one request was that we visit the beach and Charleston. I'm a beach girl. Always have been, always will be. I think that may be one of the worst parts about living in Iowa - we're a million (well, it seems like it) miles away from the beach. Charleston is one of our favorite cities - we even went there on our Mini-Moon. Love love love. You can't get more southern than Charleston! and you know I love anything southern.

We arrived back home (Greenville) on Sunday afternoon. We went out to dinner in downtown Greenville with my parents, sister, and her hubby. Monday morning, we were up early and headed to Charleston. My parents and us had booked rooms in an ocean front hotel outside of Charleston. It. was. perfect. I mean, perfect. Beach scenery, beach smells, southern cooking, southern culture, did I mention the beach? Heaven.

Monday afternoon it was hot. and I mean, hot! We ate lunch at T-Bonz, walked around the Market (also known as the historic Slave Market), went to the beach, played with Dayton in the sand and water, took a dip in the hotel pool, and had dinner at the amazing, Hominy Grill. Seriously, Dayton is such a good baby. He went around with us everywhere. I fed him as I needed to using the cover, he laid in the stroller, on a towel on the beach, slept wherever, or cuddled with one of us during dinner. He's just a content little guy.
