Single Momn' It

I love that my hubby works for John Deere. It's an all American company and I come from a family of farmers, so I'm pretty biased towards Deere tractors! I also love that my hubs works so hard. He won't, so I'll toot his horn for him. The hubs was chosen as 1 of 2 people from his facility to attend a special leadership conference/training...in Germany! It's kind of a big deal and I'm pretty proud of him for being recognized for his potential and leadership. Good work hun!

We thought about the babe and I going with him (I've always wanted to go to Germany!), but we're on a budget this summer seeing as how I took almost 4 weeks of pay-deduct since little man came early and my plane ticket would have cost about $2,000. Yea...so no. We will just have to get over there and explore some other time! I am really glad that he got to go and scout it out a little bit though. He didn't get to sight see a ton, but he did get to see a lot of really cool German castles, scenery, and pubs!

The hubs flew out on July 4th (Friday) and got back on July 12th (Saturday), which meant I was "single momn' it" for 8 days. Honestly, I was kind of looking forward to it, because (selfishly) I wouldn't have to share the babe with anyone. Yep, that just happened. Just me and this cutie pie.

Maybe I had an easy week, but we had a great time! It was easy peasy. I still got to do all of my normal activities plus some extra girl time! Friday, Baby Calvin was born, Saturday and Sunday we were total bums, Monday we had a play date, Tuesday we had an early morning walk with a neighbor (and kids), Wednesday we had Bible study and a girls night, Thursday we had another neighbor walk and more girl time, Friday was Day's first day of daycare and work day for me! On Saturday, we hung out with the Pilchers till daddy's plane got in. It was a busy, but great week! We sent daddy lots of pictures to help him get through the week. We missed him lots, but we had a good time just mama and baby. Oh, and daddy brought us back lots of goodies! I got a hand made watch and a gorgeous scarf. Daddy got himself a couple of awesomely ornate beer steins and a hand made watch. The babe didn't get anything...he's 3 months old. Ha! Glad you're back bear...we missed you!
