Grandpa Dale

My Grandpa passed away Sunday morning. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the funeral today. I am, however, so thankful that I was able to see him one last time this summer when we drove down to Colorado. Today is one of those days that it's really hard to be away from family.

Here is the obituary that was posted for his funeral today.

"Dale Lee Brunner
Born: Saturday, June 1, 1929
Death: Sunday, July 20, 2014

Dale Brunner, 85, passed away peacefully, sleeping in his favorite recliner on Sunday, July 20th. Dale was surrounded by his family. Dale was a member of one of Broomfield's first families. He was also one of the first members of Broomfield's All Volunteer Fire Department, retiring in 1981. Dale was a dairy farmer and lifelong wheat farmer. He is survived by his wife Mareata, Sons: Dale Paul (Karen), Charles (Cheri), Grandchildren: Eric, Jeremiah (Amy), Kristen (Brad Bishop), Jaimie (AJ Hansen) and Great Grandsons Griffin and Dayton. Numerous close friends.

Dale loved spending time with his family and being outside. He loved going for rides in the mountains and out 'east' to look at the wheat fields.

Donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice 11935 Quay Street Broomfield, CO 80020

We especially want to thank Dr. Mark Sarinopoulas of Broomfield Family Practice and Dr. Donald Thompson of Rocky Mountain Cardiology for their amazing and genuine loving care of Dale the last several years. They were truly Godsends for Dale and us.

The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice and Allay Home Care (both of Broomfield) for the excellent care and support they, along with Dale received."
