Bumpdate ~ Week 15

Second Trimester...you are glorious! I am feeling great and I am loving being prego. Happy.
  • Week 15
  • Baby is the size of a : pear (from crown to rump), the length of a carrot (from head to toe)!
  • Weight :  2.47 oz. / Length : 3.98 in. (7 in. including legs)
  • Baby is able to rub his/her eyes, yawn, and even blink. Baby can even grasp the umbilical cord. His/her hairline is forming and hair is starting to grow on Baby's head. Even eyelashes and eyebrows are growing. Baby is hiccuping regularly, but there is not sound. Baby can hear sounds now!
Gender: This week, my class took a vote. They have been asking a million questions about the baby, so we decided to take a few guesses about the baby! The first guess they took was whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Here's what they said!
I was really surprised! I thought it would be about half and half, but a lot of the girls said Baby would be a boy! The vote... 12 to 6. Maybe they can sense something? Haha my sweet kiddos. We also voted on baby names and when the baby would arrive!

Weight Gain: I'm still at 9 pounds since July. Not too shabby.

Pregnancy Symptoms: Other than being tired, the only symptom I have is the regular stuff! My back gets achy after a long day, but it's manageable.
  • Stretch marks: None...whew.
  • Belly button: In.
  • Other:I definitely have the line under my belly button.
Clothing: Loving maternity clothes. I wear about 1/2 of my regular shirts still. I can make some of them work, but seeing as how a lot of them or XS's most of them won't work anymore! I like Motherhood Maternity, but Gap maternity is my new favorite! I'm getting pretty good at sale shopping (I mean, I was good before, but maternity is harder to find on sale!)

Cravings: Salty food. Sweet food does not appeal to me at all! I reckoned I would be eating a ton of birthday cake ice cream, but honestly...I've had it 2 times since I got prego. Salty is definitely preferred.

Food Aversions: Not too much is an aversion anymore. I can only eat cold veggies. Warm veggies gross me out still. Steak sounds gross too. It kind of depends on the moment!

Movement: I've been feeling baby more and more. It's the most. amazing. feeling. ever! I can't wait till Brad can feel Lil' Bit too!!

Sleep: I've been sleeping on my left side quite a bit, and I still sleep great!

Best Moment This Week: Brad telling me, "I think you're going to be one of those pregnant women that are tiny and just have a big basketball in your tummy." Thanks bear ;)

Worst Moment This Week: Feeling completely drained by Friday afternoon/night. (That's pretty normal though...teaching wears ya out!)

Looking Forward to:Our appointment next week! It's always comforting to hear Lil' Bit's heartbeat. And of course I'm looking forward to finding out the sex of Baby!!

What I Miss: My 6 pack! Just kidding (this is totally worth it)...but actually, I miss running!! I would love to go for a nice 5-7 mile run right about now!

Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
  • I am bound and determined to give birth naturally...as in, no epidural. I've done my research, talked to my moms and some friends and I am sure that I want to give birth to our baby naturally. End of story. Please don't call me crazy. It's my choice and my body was made to give birth naturally. Women have done it for hundreds/thousands of years. I can too.
  • I'm also really determined to breast feed for at least 6 months. I'd like to get to 10 months (this means pumping at work, but it can be done!). I've read too much about the benefits of breast milk and I want to give our baby the best I can. I know it won't be easy, but I've made my mind up!
  • Have I mentioned I love our boy and girl name?! I just can't wait to find out which one we can use (this round)!
Diet:  Clean eating is going even better now that I'm feeling back to my old self! Now...I just need a Whole Foods in CF. Now that would make me happy!!

Exercise: I. love. the. gym. SO MUCH! and it feels amazing to be back doing something I love so much. This week I went back to working a specific muscle group each day plus 30-45 minutes of moderate cardio on the treadmill or elliptical. I even jogged one day alternating from jogging and walking every 5 minutes. Sigh...finally!
