We came back from the south on Tuesday night, so Dayton and I had Wednesday through Friday all to ourselves. I'm not going to lie, these breaks at home with my little make it really hard to go back to work. I'm hoping some day I can at a minimum work part time so that I can have more time at home raising my family and taking care of our household. More on that some other day.
Dayton and I spent a lot of time running errands and unpacking on Wednesday, but we did get to see our neighborhood friends. Thursday was spent sleeping in, playing at the gym, eating a lazy lunch, taking naps, and shopping. Friday was my last day with my babe, so I wanted to make it special. We ran a few errands in the morning, but then met a lot of our friends (7 kids total!) for lunch at Panera. Dayton loved seeing his friends and he even shared some of his food with little Emma.
After nap time, Dayton and I went to the children's museum. It's a place we have to a few times, but as he gets older there is more for him to see and do. I could tell he remembered a few of the activity stations because he picked them right up and was running around without making sure I was there. We had so much fun exploring and playing, but it was a little crowded so we didn't stay as long as we normally do. Some of the bigger kids were running around and Dayton isn't pushy, so some activities we passed by to avoid being trampled.
I'm so thankful that my job allows me to spend ten whole days with my kiddo in the middle of March. I know a lot of people only get 10-15 days vacation for a whole year. Thankfully, I get spring break, summer break, and winter break with my kid(s). It makes getting up and going to work each day a little more bearable for this mama.
