Week 24- Second Trimester
- Baby is the size of an : ear of corn
- Weight : 1.32 lb. | 11.81 in.
- Heartbeat: 130 bpm
- Mama measures: 25 cm. (25 weeks)
- Baby's weight will double in the next four weeks and his hair is starting to gain pigment. Baby's lungs are preparing for their first breaths. Baby's lungs also produce a substance that helps in keeping the lungs from collapsing and sticking together. Loud noises may startle baby.
Weight Gain: 15 pounds
How I Feel: Pretty good! Dayton and I both came down with colds this week, which stinks but what can ya do! I had a few nights where I didn't sleep well, but by the middle of the week I was out like a light. I talked to my midwife about some cramps/pain I've been having on the right side of my uterus and some pain I have been feeling in my pelvis. She came to the conclusion that I may have strained something. The pain has started subsiding, so I think she was right.
- Stretch marks: none
- Belly button: popped out
- Other: nothing that I can think of
Food Aversions: the same
Movement: Little man is still head down so I feel his hands moving a lot. His feet like to kick around the top of my uterus, but this week I actually felt some more movement on the sides as well. His movement is still pretty much on a schedule, but the past few nights when I wasn't sleeping well I found out that he moves quite a bit at night too!
Sleep: I didn't sleep well a few nights due to this cold, but doing better now.
Best Moment This Week: hearing my sweet babe's heartbeat at my ultrasound
Looking Forward to: my next appointment at 28 weeks. We will be having an ultrasound to check babe's fluid levels on his kidneys.
What I Miss: bending over easily and picking things up off of the floor
Diet: the same, 80/20. I've cut out some carbs since I think I was taking too many in with snacks. I am eating higher protein now and have substituted one of my snacks for a green protein shake.
Exercise: This week has been harder because of this cold (it is really knocking my on my feet), but I was able to get to the gym 4 out of the 5 days this workweek. I'm still using the short cut to shred program with interval running.
What's Happening This Week: This week is the same old same old. Monday we had a night at home, which was wonderful since Day and I didn't feel well. Tuesday night we did not go to our small group for the same reason. We've been trying to get Dayton into bed between 6:30 and 7 pm so that he's getting a good 12 hours of sleep. Wednesday Brad has class. Thursday will be another at home night for me to prepare for the upcoming two year old party! Friday is always Brad and I's at home date night and Saturday we're heading to a friend's surprise 30th birthday party!
