Bumpdate ~ Week 21

Week 21- Second Trimester
  • Baby is the size of a : cantaloupe
  • Weight : 12.7 oz.   |  10.51  in.  (crown to heel)
  • Little man looks very much like he will when he is born now, only smaller. Baby can suck his thumb, yawn, kick, and move his arms around. Hair is growing on baby's head and his facial features are formed. A stethoscope can now pick up baby's heartbeat. Baby's bone marrow is making blood cells now, a job that was done by the liver and spleen previously. Baby can blink his eyelashes and his eyebrows are formed.

Gender: BOY!

Weight Gain: still about 12 pounds

How I Feel:
  • Stretch marks: none, whew
  • Belly button: a little part has popped
  • Other: I've been feeling a lot of pressure down low, but I carry my babies low so I guess it's to be expected. My boobs are definitely bigger. I had to switch to my larger bras. They're getting ready for nursing!
Cravings: I haven't had any really specific cravings lately. I am really looking forward to getting down down and eating some delicious southern food though!

Food Aversions: the same

Movement: lots of kick, hands moving and "stretching" going on in there

Sleep: sleeping great. I did finally break out the pregnancy pillow though. That belly has to go somewhere.

Best Moment This Week: The hubs got to feel the baby kick, and kick hard! On our way to the airport, we got Dunkin Donuts coffee. I get the decaf iced coffee with cream on the side. Well, they must have given me caffeine because boy was that baby moving! Brad got to feel him kicking around on the drive!

Looking Forward to: being home in the south

What I Miss: being able to snuggle with Dayton chest to chest comfortably

Diet: the same, 80/20. However, I know I will be having a cheat meal each night while we are back home. Southern food is too good to pass up!

Exercise: I'm still working out 6 days a week, however, I'll be honest. I'm exhausted. I push myself pretty hard during my workouts and during the week, so my body is just tired. I plan to go for a few runs, but mostly just relax while we are away!

What's Happening This Week: This week we're headed home to the south. Friday was the teacher's comp day since we had conferences all week. So Friday morning we headed to the airport to take a semi-quick trip home. We were gone from Friday morning to Tuesday night. The rest of the week is spring break and I plan to rest, rest, rest...and get a lot of stuff done.
