Bumpdate ~ Week 30

30 Weeks. Oh my stars. Less than 10 weeks left?! I feel like I just got pregnant...kind of. The time really has flown by. Luckily, we've had some snow up here...*blank stare*...so Monday I did have some time to knock out quite a few things off of my "Baby to-do" list! That made me feel a little better, but the nesting instinct has kicked into a higher gear and I know it will just get worse the closer we get to D-day. I've made some good progress on the decor for the baby room, we've ordered all of the furniture, and we're ready to paint the orange part so I'm feeling much better! I'm really looking forward to spring break. I know I will be able to get tons done then.

I had my 30 week appointment this week. Everything looks great! Here's the stats:
  • heart beat: 132 bpm
  • tummy: 32 cm.
  • I've had a few minor changes with my hair and nails, so the Dr wanted to check my thyroid. The blood work came back and everything looks good!
  • I'm still encouraged and good to go with exercising as well! Doc did say, if it starts to bring on contractions while I'm running (oops), to stop running and do something less intense. I can deal with that.
Less than 10 weeks till our Lil Bit gets here. I can't wait!!
  • Week 30
  • Baby is the size of a : large head of cabbage
  • Weight :  2.91  lb. / Length :  15.71  in.
  •  Baby boy is now able to see, even though it's dark inside, his eyes are wide open and looking around. His brain is growing rapidly this week, so it will not gain much height or weight this week. Red blood cells are forming in his marrow, he is shedding the lanugo on his skin, and his hair is growing thicker on his head! Fluid is now present in his alveoli (air sacs) in his lungs to help him take his first breath when he arrives. He may start to position himself for birth any time now!
Gender: BOY!

Weight Gain: According to the scale at the Dr.'s office this week...30 pounds. Eek! That sounds like a lot, but it's right on track with the 35-40 lbs the Dr. said I should gain with this pregnancy. Okie doke!

How I Feel: I'm actually feeling really good! I don't have any major pains or "symptoms" and some of my energy is back as long as I get to bed on time and sleep in on the weekends. I'd say this has been a very good pregnancy for us!
  • Stretch marks: None.
  • Belly button: In...but a little portion is starting to pop out.The hubs even noticed.
  • Other: Braxton Hicks contractions pretty regularly in the mornings, stuffy nose.
How Daddy's Feeling: Pretty good. The hubs is feeling baby move around more and feeling body parts slide across his hands. He especially gets a kick out of seeing which side of my belly his son is laying on.

Cravings: Not really anything.

Food Aversions: None.

Movement: Lots of movement...all day. This little man is going to be active! He's starting to push out now and I can feel my tummy really stretching when he does! I'm also starting to be able to identify parts of his little body, like legs and his back or butt. So cuteee!

Sleep: Sleeping great!

Best Moment This Week: I hate to admit it, but the snow day on Monday. I got a lot done and spent the whole day really feeling little man moving around. Since I teach, I move so much during the day I don't notice him moving as much as when I am at home sitting down!

Worst Moment This Week: The blizzard?! and this horrible weather!

Looking Forward to: Going HOME!!! I cannot wait to see my family and friends and to be in the blessed south!

What I Miss: Being able to bend over and easily put on my tennis.

Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
  •  To-do list, to-do list, to-do list.
  • I just can't wait for our little man to get here. I think I will bawl when I finally get to hold him.
Diet: Clean eating 80/20...but I know this weekend will be filled with lots of unhealthy foods! We have to visit our favorite restaurants! Hopefully, it won't be tooooo bad. Yikes.

Exercise: Still hittin' the gym pretty hard. Woo! Still lifting weights 4 days a week and 2 cardio nights. I've had to alter my running to a different kind of intervals: 1 minute face paced walk, 1 minute running, repeat. It's working well! I've also become best friends with the stair stepper.

What's Happening This Week: Monday I had a snow day and got a lot of work done! On Tuesday, we discussed our leadership and spiritual gifts surveys in small group. The hubs and I both had pretty similar results...no surprise there! I love our church small group. They are wonderful! Wednesday, the hubs and I both have class so there's another night out of the house. The "blizzard" hit on Thursday. We had an early dismissal at school and the sleet/snow started right about then! Busy busy week...again.
