Bishop Weekend Shenanigans [2.7-9.14]

Ahhhh the weekend. Our weeks are so busy with classes, church group, meetings, work, etc. that the week flies by for both of us. We are always happy to welcome a Friday. Especially THIS Friday.

Friday ~ This Friday is finally here! Which means...we were going to the LUKE BRYAN concert!! Love love love him/his music. Cole Swindle and Lee Brice (adore) opened. Pre-concert, our friends Kate and Ryan came over straight from work so that they could get ready at our house. Us girls got all countried up while the boys had a few. A big group of 12 of us met for dinner at the Wild Hare and enjoyed a yummy dinner before the concert. Our town is pretty small, so I'm pretty sure everyone and their whole extended family in CF had tickets to the concert. We were having dinner at the north west end of town and heard (while we were at dinner) that traffic was backed up so bad to the UNI dome that is was already reaching us! We decided to take the back roads to the concert and had no problems at all getting there!
The hubs new boots (yes, he put his pants down over them) / hanging out pre-Luke / baby's first concert
Cole Swindle, Lee Brice, and Luke Bryan were all amazing!! This was my first time at the UNI dome, Baby's first country concert, and the first time the hubs and I have seen Luke B in concert! Amazing. We sat with our friends Amanda and Shawn. (Amanda is from NC, so she's a fellow southern lady. Shawn and Brad have known each other since high school and went to Iowa State together. Love them both!) We had such a great time and being prego at a concert was actually kind of intersting/easy!
Luke Bryan opened his show by coming up out of the circular center stage, standing on a big black truck, surrounded by a circle of fire. Awesome opening!! He was so energetic and such a great entertainer. So good. I'm not one of those, "Luke Bryan is the hottest man alive," but it was an awesome show! He danced the whole night, played with the crowd, and threw t-shirts and beers to the crowd!
On our way out, it was pretty crowded, but we got a kick out of the murmurs that followed me... "Be careful. She's pregnant. Don't squish her. Giver her some room." The hubs was pretty protective as we tried to navigate through the crowds. At one point, everyone had to funnel through one section and I started getting squished/pushed into a wall. The hubs was behind me and tried to push his arm in to help me out and block some of the weight and then a lady said loudly, "Hey hun, that's the pregnant girl that was behind us. Be careful and don't squish her!" Then her very large and tall hubby gave me some more space and proceeded to provide a wall/barrier for me! He even yelled at some "kids" who were pushing to try and get through. Gotta love being little and prego! It was cute and helpful getting through the crowds!

We did get stuck in the parking lot for over an hour because of all of the traffic, but that is to be expected! We got home around 12:30 am and this girl was ex-hausted!!

Saturday ~ I slept in until about 11 am. Yep, dead to the world until then. After I woke up, we had breakfast/brunch went to the gym, ran some errands, came home to this delivery...(thanks Momma Brunner!! can't wait till Baby D gets to use the co-sleeper!)
and then were back out getting materials, paint, etc. for the baby room. Once we finally got home, it was time for our lazy Saturday night home date ~ sushi and a movie. I was back in bed by 10:15ish.

Sunday We had nursery duty at 8:30 am. in the 12-18 month old room. We only had 6 kids though because we recently had a room change and a lot of our kiddos moved up to the toddler room. It was nice and relaxing, but we missed our normal kiddos. After church, we did our grocery shopping, food prep for the week, and lots of clean up/work around the house. Somehow, it ended up being a busy weekend!
