29 weeks! That means Baby D could be here in 11 weeks or less! I've had this feeling that he might come early for the past couple of weeks, so I am starting to stress out about getting everything ready! I feel like we have so much to do and so little time to get it done. It's even more stressful since we have such busy weeks. I feel like I'm not even home to get things done! This girl is looking forward to Spring Break the 17-21st in March. That will be my time to get a ton done...hopefully!
- Week 29
- Baby is the size of a : large butternut squash
- Weight : 2.54 lb. / Length : 15.20 in.
- Baby's brain is now in charge of maintaining his body temperature and also controls his breathing. Babies irises can even respond to light by expanding and contracting. All of his internal organs are maturing and preparing to function on their own. Momma may be able to feel baby cough! Baby's skin is beginning to look less and less wrinkly and more like it will when he is born. Baby is bursting with energy at this point and Momma should be able to feel it all!
Gender: BOY!
Weight Gain: Last I checked, 24 pounds. I feel really good about the weight I've gained. The hubs and I were talking about baby weight vs. weight gain. I feel good about how my body has been handling the weight gain. So far, I would guess that I've gained about 5-8 pounds of "fat" weight. I can tell a difference in my rear and my legs, but no where else. I've been able to avoid "love handles" or "muffin top" thanks to exercise and diet. I really think most of my weight is baby weight. That would explain the basketball in my belly!
I've worked pretty hard to keep the "fat" weight gain down, so it makes me feel really good about where I'm at. I want to gain healthy weight with this pregnancy, not a lot of "fat" weight. It's healthier this way for me and for baby. It will also make recovering from this pregnancy a little easier weight wise. Since being healthy was one of my major goals for this pregnancy, I feel like it's going well!
How I Feel: I feel really good! I've been tired this week, but baby is growing and growing so it's to be expected. I haven't had any back pain, headaches, etc. I feel like I've been pretty lucky this pregnancy, but again, I feel like a lot of that has to do with my diet and exercise routines!
- Stretch marks: Nada!
- Belly button: In...but a little portion is starting to pop out.
- Other: Braxton Hicks contractions pretty regularly in the mornings, stuffy nose.
Cravings: About the same...Wednesday nights I get my fresh salad and fruit from HyVee while I'm in class, chips and salsa are still a favorite, and I have been craving shrimp!
Food Aversions: None.
Movement: For the past week or two, kicks and punches have been a little less frequent and now I just feel baby moving around constantly. His back and butt are pretty easy to feel when he curls up and pushes. He like to curl up on the right side of my belly. It's so much fun feeling his protruding body parts and feeling legs and knees move across my hand!
Sleep: Sleeping awesome and enjoying sleeping in on the weekend while I can!
Best Moment This Week: My kiddos had their 2nd grade concert on Tuesday night. One of my kids parents came to say "hi" and said, "You are so adorable! It looks like you just have a big basketball in your tummy! You look great." That felt good. Thank you!!
Worst Moment This Week: Having to go to the bathroom 2 minutes after I go. Baby is low and hanging out on my bladder. Ha!
Looking Forward to: Going HOME!!!!!!
What I Miss: Sushi. I miss my spicy tuna and rainbow rolls.
Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
- We have so much to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exercise: The same. One rest day, 4 days of lighting weights plus 30 minutes of cardio, and 2 nights of an hour of cardio. I've had to be careful with running this week. If I don't get enough water throughout the day, running can trigger painful contractions, so I stop right away and switch to the elliptical which stops them so that I can keep going. Don't worry, I did consult with the Doc on this and as long as it "doesn't hurt" I can continue cardio.
What's Happening This Week: Monday was our night at home. Both of us were catching up on homework. Tuesday I had a chiropractor appointment and the 2nd grade concert. Wednesday day night we both have class, so we don't get home until 10-10:30 pm. Thursday night was my 6th and last photography class. Friday was Valentine's Day!! The hubs sent me flowers at work, I surprised him with a new iPod nano (he's been needing one for workouts, etc.), we had a delicious dinner at one of our favorite spots - Montage, and we enjoyed a Scratch cupcake when we got home!
Happy Valentine's Day! |
