Fall DIY at the Bishop's

Oh how I love FALL! Ahem...how many times have I said this?!?
(Confession: Summer is my favorite time of year, but Fall is definitely right there in second place!)

Along with loving Fall, I have to give some love to DIY's. I've had this re-occurring thought quite a bit: "What did we do before Pinterest?" Seriously though... It's amazing the projects, crafts, recipes, etc. that people come up with. I wish I was half as creative! I guess I'm just pretty good at copying, but I am happy with that! I do improvise a few things in my crafts and recipes, but the overall product is usually copied somehow!

This Fall, I would have loved to do about 8 bazillion more crafts. Alas, we are in quite the transition mode right now: moving from SC, renting various spaces, selling our SC house while building a house in Iowa, all of our stuff is in boxes, job transitions, etc. Whew! We have been on a decently strict budget to help us get through all of these transitions, but we move into our house NEXT WEEKEND and we SOLD our SC house!! So hopefully, things will be getting a little easier around here soon.

Anywho, here's what I made for my little bit of Fall DIY's!

Fall Front Door Wreath
I didn't get inspiration for this in any particular spot. I just saw tooonns of different fall wreaths on Pinterest. I took a few pieces from each and made my own.
-Stick wreath: Hobby Lobby
-2 Sets of Flowers: Hobby Lobby
-Ribbon: Wal-Mart
-Burlap: Hobby Lobby
-Wooden letter: Hobby Lobby
-Yarn: Hobby Lobby
Monogram Pumpkins:
Just like the wreath, I saw lots of different painted pumpkins on Pinterest. I made these on my own and free-handed the monogram (that took me about 2 hours!). I didn't want to use the vinyl lettering, because I was going to keep them outside and I wanted them out on the porch asap!
-Pumpkins: Wal-Mart
-Ribbon: Wal-Mart
-Paints: Hobby Lobby
-Paint brushes: Hobby Lobby

Yarn-Wrapped Candy Corn Decor:
I found these on Pinterest and thought they were adorable! I love decorating for the holidays, but I like it to be "cute/classy." I don't do cheesy holiday decor.  There were several blogs that featured these cutie candy corns, such as: "Occasionally Crafty" (here) and "Thrifty Decor Chick" (here). I originally used Thrifty's tutorial!
-Styrofoam Tress: Hobby Lobby
-Yarn: Hobby Lobby
-Glue gun
-Scissors
As I said before, I would have loved to make TONS more, but due to "budget cuts" this was all I made! Just watch out for next year... Here's what I'm keeping in my back pocket for Fall 2013!

Happy Fall Y'all!
