Colton James, how are you this big already? It breaks your mama's heart with how fast you're growing. Now that you've been around for a few weeks, we're starting to get in the swing of things as a family of four. I can't imagine our life without you sweet little man. You're the icing on our cake. I love watching you grow, smile, and take in the world around you. You are one special little guy!

Mommy Update: Mama is doing great. Almost back to normal! I fit in some of my pre-baby clothes and I have about 14 pounds to lose.
Nursing/Eating: Little man eats very well. Colton is eating on a 2.5 hour schedule. It's amazing what just another half hour can do. Colton usually eats around 4-5 am and eats quite a bit. He goes right back to sleep and wakes up about 2-3 hours later and that's when our 2.5 hour schedule starts. Most feedings Colton eats from both sides, but around noon he "snacks" and eats from one side. This is definitely a change from Dayton! He was a little piggie.
Sleep: Little man is on a pretty steady pattern of eats, play, and sleep. He takes 1-2 hour naps during the day. After lunch he sleeps for about 2-3 hours. He's a sleepy baby. At night, little bug is sleeping 5-6 hours, waking to eat, and then going right back to sleep.
Size: Colton is wearing size one diapers and 0-3 months clothes. He is getting long! Colton used to fit perfectly in the chair in his room while I nurse him, but now his little feet are hitting the side. Stop growing baby boy!
Development: Colton is so awake and so alert. He loves to look at his mama and he is great at making eye contact with the people holding him and around him. He doesn't love tummy time, but we try to give him 10-15 minutes of tummy time per day. He's getting pretty good at holding his head up. Dayton loves to lay on the mat with his little brother and encourage him to lift his head up. It's too sweet! Colton is definitely more apt to lift his head up when someone is there talking to him.
Temperament: Colton is a sweet, sweet baby. He is very content and happy the majority of the time. When he gets hungry and sleepy he gets a little cranky, but that's pretty normal.
Likes: Colton loves his swing, being swaddled, watching his brother, talking to daddy, snuggling up on mama and daddy's shoulders, his car seat, and going for walks.
Dislikes: Colton does not like being hungry or sleepy. He doesn't love his binky, but he uses it now and then.
Small Moments: I've started taking Dayton to daycare on Wednesdays so that I can get a day alone with Colton. We were walking around HyVee and Colton was in his car seat facing me and he was actually awake so he was looking around at the lights. I was talking to him and he was looking at his mama smiling. Oh it completely melted my heart. I had felt a little bad about taking Dayton to daycare, but after that I knew it was a good choice. I need some time alone with my little man.
