Colton James: One Month

Colton,

You are something else little bug. I cannot believe one month has gone by already. I know I say this every week, but you are growing up way too fast. You are such a sweet little guy and we couldn't love you anymore. Your brother is pretty fond of you and has become quite protective as well. Our friends Kate and Ryan came to visit a week after you were born. Ryan was holding you, got up to leave, and jokingly said, "I'll just take you with me." Dayton looked up from playing and said, "Please don't take my baby brother." It was the sweetest thing. Just wanted you to know how much your brother loves you because in the future I'm sure you'll need a reminder. ;)

So far, we've stayed around town since you were born, but we've been out and about quite a bit. A lot of our friends have come to visit and Nanny and Papa came as well. You are already so loved! Your Auntie Jaimie can't wait to see you too. Grandma and Grandpa were here when you were born and your Aunt and Uncle Beth and Gene (along with Macy and Cal) came to visit you a few days after you were born.

My sweet little man. I know this is my second time around, but I am loving every minute of you being a newborn. Your birth was beautiful and you have added so much joy to our lives. I wasn't quite sure what loving two babies would be like, but I love you more than I can explain. You are your brother are my whole world. Thanks for making me a mama, again. I love you to the moon and back my little man.

One month update:

Size - You were born 7 lb 7 oz and at your two week appointment you were up to 8 lb 10 oz. I'm assuming you've gained more weight since then, but we don't have another appointment until you're two months old.  

Words - None, obviously, but your squeaks and grunting are just the cutest. I know they'll start to go away soon, but I'll hold onto them for as long as I can.

Activity - You don't have too much activity other than eating and sleeping, but you do move your hands almost all of the time. You're starting to un-fist your hands every now and then. You've started grabbing onto our fingers and my clothes as I'm feeding you. We give you tummy time one to two times per day and you're actually pretty good at holding your head up, but you held your head up a few minutes after you were born too. You don't love tummy time, but you do let us put you on your tummy for a little while before you start fussing.

Food - You only get breast milk. You eat 8-9 times a day every 2 hours.

Sleep - As of right now, you are sleeping 5-6 hours at night. (Thank you!!) That helps mama a lot, but I'm still taking a few naps while you are napping throughout the week. You sleep quite a bit throughout the day and take 1-1.5 hour naps after you eat.

Bedtime/Waketime - Right now your "bed time" is around 10 pm. 

Hair - Dark brown

Eyes - Dark blue

Teeth - None

Wardrobe - You are maxing out your newborn clothes, so I'll be switching your newborn clothes out next week for the 0-3 month clothes.

Diapers - I just switched your from newborn diapers to size 1.

Likes - You like cuddling, you love your mama (a lot), you love watching your brother play, eating, sleeping, being baby worn by mama, grabbing on to fingers, and looking at mama and daddy.

Mama's Favorite - My favorite thing is when you look right into my eyes. You are so sweet and I know you can "see" me. Your eyes are just the sweetest thing and I love watching you watch me.
