Three weeks have flown by. My little bug is doing great and growing and changing each and every day. Dayton absolutely loves his little brother and is becoming very protective of him!
Mommy: I' doing great. All healed up and back in the gym. I wear out kind of easy, but I'm pushing through it to get my body moving the way it used to. I'm down 21 pounds, and I have about 14 more pounds to go. I know some of it will stay on since I am breastfeeding, but I am ready for the rest to come off. I can fit into some of my pairs of pre-baby pants, but not all of them.
I started going to the gym and bringing the boys with me to the gym daycare. I was really nervous to bring Colton since he is so small, but I feed him right before we go and he sleeps the entire time in his car seat. They put the car seat in a crib away from the other kiddos, so no one is near him, breathing on him, or touching him. Whew.
Nursing/Eating: Colton is eating very two hours, on the dot. He eats about 8-10 minutes on both sides. Every now and then when he's sleepy, he only eats on one side. Since my supply is pretty large, I have to pump out 1-2 ounces before I feed him. He is eating well and is growing so fast!
Sleeping: Little man is a great sleeper. He eats, stays awake for a while, and then sleeps for about an hour. Colton is eating around 2 am, 6 am, 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, 8 pm, 10 pm, and 12 am. Some nights Colton sleeps from 12-4 am and sometimes later. At night he is sleeping 4-5 hour time blocks. Thank you baby! Colton is also the nosiest sleeping babe I have ever met. He makes noises all night long!
Size: still wearing newborn clothes and size 1 diapers
Development: Colton is a pretty sleepy babe, but he does love to make eye contact with his mama. He also turns his head when he hears his mamas voice and calms down right away when he gets to mama. His hands are starting to open up but he keeps them in fists most of the time.
Temperament: Colton is a very content, happy baby. He does get a little fussy around 7-10 pm, but as long as mama has him he's fine.
Likes: Colton likes his swing, cuddling, playing on his mat, his car seat, being in a baby wrap, and eating.
Dislikes: Little bug does not like being hungry or tired. That's about the only time he fusses or cries.
Small Moments: I think Colton is going to be a mama's boy. My favorite thing about having a newborn is that they know their mama's voice and their mama's smell. I can't help but absolutely love it when Colton is fussy and as soon as he hears my voice and is in my arms, he quiets down. It just completely melts my heart. I love you bug.
