Colton - Week 2

2 weeks old. How is my little babe already two weeks? Since we've done this before with our first babe, the time seems to be flying by so much faster. We are loving every minute of our time with this sweet sweet baby. It's starting to seem like he's always been here. We love you Colton James!

Nanny and Papa arrived on Saturday, so we've been enjoying a lot of family time around here. We have gone on a few errands, but since Colton is so small still and mama is still recovering, we haven't done anything too exciting. We did make it to the pool one day this week. I'm sure Colton will grow up to love the pool as much as Dayton does.

2 Week Update -

2 week appointment: Colton's 2 week appointment went well. He is growing quickly!

• weight: 8 lb 10 oz
• height: 21.5 in.
• kidneys: Colton's 2nd ultrasound on his kidneys showed that he still has fluid on his left kidney, but the right kidney is completely normal now.

Mommy: I am doing much better this week. I have still been taking hot baths at night to help heal. I am starting to be able to walk around and be my normal active self, but by night time I get a little sore. Slow but steady recovery!

Nursing/Eating: Colton is eating about every 1.5-2 hours. He eats for about 8-10 minutes (sometimes less) on each side. So far, it seems that Colton is a good eater and a hungry little man! Seeing as how he gained over a pound from his birth weight, I'd say he's doing well.

Sleeping: Colton is sleeping about 3-5 hours at a time at night. I'll take it! He takes pretty solid naps during the day as well. Most of the time, he sleeps right after he eats and sleeps until it's time for him to eat again. Every now and then, he'll stay awake for about 30 minutes to an hour between his feedings.

Size: Colton is wearing newborn clothes and is still wearing newborn diapers.

Development: Colton is pretty good at engaging in eye contact. He also lifts his head well. He gives the sweetest sleepy smiles as well!

Temperament: Colton is a sweet little guy. He loves to snuggle and only cries when he is sleepy and hungry. He's a little wiggle worm and loves being held!

Likes: Colton loves to eat, sleep, be snuggled and watch his big brother. Colton loves his swing, being in his car seat, and loves his baby carriers.

Dislikes: So far, Colton does not like being hungry and tired.

Small Moments: I love baby snuggles. I could hold this little bug all day. It breaks my heart to see him growing so fast already. I just want time to slow down! Colton loves to lay on my chest and fall asleep and I am totally okay with that.
