Top Ten: iPhone Apps

Off of inspiration of a family member ( ;) thanks Sarah!), I decided to write a post about my Top Ten favorite apps on my iPhone right now. I. Love. My. iPhone. As one of my friends put it (when moving from her blackberry to the iPhone), "It's like going from an apartment to a pent house!" Lady, I could not agree more! I'm somewhat of a nerd and love technology magazines, blogs, articles, etc., so I have seen many a write-up about the "top" apps for the iPhone and iPad (which hopefully will be added to our Apple family soon).

Here are mine...(in no particular order)...

1. Dropbox: Dropbox is a "sharing" app for you and your computer and other devices. It kind of works like a cloud. You can download Dropbox on your iPhone and your computer. Place any photos, documents, or camera uploads in the Dropbox and you can access them from any device that Dropbox is loaded onto! I feel, this is key for pictures. The photos I take on my phone are automatically uploaded onto my computer! No more e-mailing pictures or documents!!

2. Instagram: Instagram is a type of social media...for pictures. Think of it like Facebook, only there are no "status updates," just photo updates. You can also "like" and "comment" on photos of friends, family, or people that you follow. Instagram also has many different photo filters for you to edit your photos with. That's one of the best features and the one I use the most. Sidenote: Want Instagram on your computer so you can save/download photos? Get Instagrille.

3. Wood Camera: Wood Camera is really good for editing photos through filters, cropping, resizing, textures, frames, etc. After editing photos you can save them to your camera roll, email, send to Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Instagram.
 4. Facebook: Duh. Not too much to say about this one!! You know you all have it ;)
 5. Pinterest: Oh Pinterest...what do I even say about you? Thanks to my sister-in-law, I discovered Pinterest. Ideas galore!! I love cooking, crafts, fashion, tips/tricks, teaching, and working out - all on Pinterest + so many more!
 6. Holy Bible: This was one of the first apps that I downloaded. I also had this on my blackberry. This is my go-to app for all things Bible and encouragement. They verse of the day, tons of devotionals, and the whole Bible at your fingertips. One of my favorites is the "bookmark" feature. I bookmark all verses that speak to me in one way in another. When I am down, needing encouragement, more faith, am calling out to God...anything...this is where I go.

7. Fox News: Since Brad and I both watch Fox News in the mornings and the evenings, this app was an easy download. Fox news provides breaking news and updates for the US, world, and other categories. This app also gives notifications for any breaking news. Keep on top of it!

 8. ESPN Score Center: This might be the best app ever created for Football Season!! In this house, we do football. We do a lot of football. ESPN Score Center lets you follow any of your teams as well as teams in other conferences. It also will send you updates for breaking news, team news, game start, each scoring play, close of game, and final. Love love love it! A must!
9. Pandora: Pandora is a miracle when it comes to music. If you type in a song or artist you like, and it will create a play list for you with songs from that artist and other like them. This app comes most in handy when we're at the gym. Pandora is perfect for working out or long road trips!
10. Run Keeper: Run Keeper is perfect if you love running. Even if you are starting out, this app is great! Run Keeper asks for your age, weight, goals, and skills level. It recommends and gives strategies for you to accomplish your goals! It also keeps track of your runs-mileage and time-to help you maintain and accomplish your goals. Great!
Hope you enjoyed and I hope maybe you found some new apps!

Thanks for sharing your favorite apps Kristen! I absolutely enjoyed reading through all of them, and did actually find a few new ones that I can't wait to check out! Dropbox sounds like it'll really come in handy on my business trips I take for my job at DISH too, so I'm pretty excited you included that one! I don’t really have too many favorite apps on my iPhone, but I do really enjoy what DISH Remote Access has to offer. I’m a pretty big TV fanatic, so I use the app mostly to manage and schedule my DVR while I’m away on business. Sometimes though, since I have a Sling Adapter at home, I use it to watch my shows, live or recorded, wherever I am in the world. It’s nice to use when I find myself twiddling my thumbs with boredom while in the airport! :) Oh and BTW, I love your blog! Very beautiful pictures!
