October 21, 2011...
(Background: My cousin and his wife announced to our family at my sister's wedding that they were pregnant! We were all very excited for them! This would be the first baby on my dad's side of the family.)
On October 21st, our family got a call that my cousin and his wife were in the hospital because the baby came early. Our baby Griffin came about 5 months early. He was born at 1 lb. 12 oz. That little baby made it through the night and kept on fighting for 4 months. We got updates all the time about his progress and our family prayed every day for his health and growth as well as strength and perseverance for my cousin and his wife. Baby Griffin, dubbed "The Might Griffin," was in the NICU for 4 months.
In February , baby Griffin was able to go home! I can't imagine the happiness that my cousin and his wife felt when they were finally able to bring their little miracle home. Every time I think about that sweet boy and his parents, it makes me tear up a little. I cannot even begin to imagine what my family went through, but I do know that I am so proud to be a part of this family and am doubly proud of the Might Griffin and his amazing parents.
Today, October 21, 2012, one year later - the Mighty Griffin turns ONE YEAR OLD!
Happy Birthday Griffin! We love you so much!!
