Week 40 - Third Trimester
- Baby is about the size of a : watermelon
- Weight : 7.5 lb. | 20.2 in.
- Baby is ready to come out and now we are just waiting!
Gender: boy!
Weight Gain: 35 pounds
How I Feel: I feel pretty good. I'm swelling a little bit but after visiting the chiropractor that seems to have gone down. Saturday night at church I had soe pretty sharp burning contractions in my back and when we got home I was having some very painfull contractions. They were short and lasted about an hour, but whew that was an hour! It felt more like sever cramping than contractions, but all I know my stomach was killing me. It faded after a while, so we stayed at home. It came on fast and left so I knew it wasn't actual labor. Sunday and Monday I felt just fine!
- Stretch marks: none
- Belly button: popped out, mostly on the left side
- Other: pelvis aches, Braxton hicks, cramping, lower back aches and pain, some painful but short contractions
Food Aversions: fish (except shrimp)
Movement: Little man has slowed down, but he is still moving. I'm keeping track of his movements to calm my nerves more than anything. I just don't want to have another "Dayton" situation.
Sleep: I'm sleeping just fine and trying to get plenty of it!
Best Moment This Week: hitting 40 weeks!
Looking Forward to: baby C coming out
What I Miss: I know this sounds crazy, and I did have a mini meltdown last week, but I am perfectly content still being pregnant. I think I'm okay with being induced at 41 weeks. I'm perfectly content having babe safe and sound on the inside and I'm soaking up these last days being pregnant.
Diet: Still eating clean 80/20. Same old same old! I've tried to add in more protein and veggies to help me prepare for labor.
I am still drinking raspberry leaf tea in the morning and at night as well as eating 6 dates per day and taking evening primrose oil three times a day. I'm doing everything I can to help my body prepare for labor!
Exercise: I am still working out 6 days a week using the short cut to shred program. So far, nothing has changed. I'm cleared to workout until babe comes. Going to the gym is helping me prepare for labor as well as keep me busy and moving.
What's Happening This Week: Nothing. We're keeping everything low key until baby boy comes!
