Week 28- Third Trimester
- Baby is about the size of a : coconut OR a roller skate
- Weight : 2.22 lb. | 14.8 in.
- Baby's eyes are now partially open and his eyelids are able to blink. Baby is able to recognize different levels of light. He is getting chubbier as fat is deposited under his skin. Baby is also building muscle as well!
What happened at our 28 week appointment:
- glucose test - pass!
- Baby is head down and facing my spine.
- ultrasound results for kidney fluid: left kidney has 4 ml of fluid and right kidney has 3 ml of fluid = great results and an answer to prayer!
- amniotic fluid: 14 cm - great results!
- Baby was very active after the glucose drink! Baby boy was moving so much that our ultrasound tech had a hard time getting the pictures and measurements that she needed. Little man was moving his arms, legs, kicking, and rolling.
- We also got to see baby open and close his eyes in 2D and 4D! He was opening and closing his mouth, sticking out his tongue, and imitating sucking with his mouth and tongue. He was also trying to put his fingers in his mouth. He was such a fun baby to watch on the screen!
- We were so caught up watching him and laughing at all of his movement that we didn't take video. Now, in hind site, I wish we had! Thanks to Tami (our tech), we got some great pictures though!
- Baby C looks just like Dayton...at least we think so. What a doll baby!
Gender: boy!
Weight Gain: 21 pounds
How I Feel: Feeling great! Feeling big, but great!
- Stretch marks: none
- Belly button: popped out
- Other: vericose veins have made an appearence and the "hernia" bump has been back for a while. My midwives have concluded that it is vascular and will go away just like it did with Dayton's pregnancy. It is pretty uncomfortable, but there's not much we can do about it.
Food Aversions: fish (except shrimp)
Movement: little man moves around pretty consistently and I feel him almost constantly throughout the day, which is great! Babe is the most active from 9-11 pm. He moves so much and pushes his little body out to the right side. I can feel his butt and back very well when he does this and my stomach looks completely deformed. I feel feet pretty often and lil' bits hands are almost always moving down there!
Sleep: sleeping great
Best Moment This Week: our ultrasound!
Looking Forward to: summer break. The countdown is on.
What I Miss: rolling from side to side in bed without having to "carry' my belly with me, Ha!
Diet: still clean eating 80/20...oh wait. This week I was so bad! I ate horrible at our staff luncheon on Wednesday and this weekend I plan to have a delicious cheat meal at Granite City! But I'm trying to clean it up after those few cheats.
Exercise: I started Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer in Phase 2 and have been enjoying the change. I am still able to do 99% of the lifts and I am still running! I've been working in the stair stepper for about 10 minutes after my workout to help out my legs.
What's Happening This Week: Our weeks are finally slowing down now that small group and Brad's class is over. Monday night we went and picked up my new bike! Brad has a newer, used bike and we also have a bike trailer for Dayton. Now I have my bike too and we can get out and go on some bike rides. Tuesday was our 28 week appointment and I wrote all about it above. Wednesday was pretty quiet and so was Thursday. Friday night we are going to the Brantley Gilbert concert in Cedar Rapids with our friends Kate and Ryan. Brad's parents are picking up Dayton and watching him for the night. They plan to stay Friday night with us and then help us paint the baby room on Saturday!
