Week 26- Second Trimester
- Baby is as long as a : zucchini
- Weight : 1.68 lb. | 14.02 in.
- Baby boy may be able to hear both daddy and mama now and tell us apart. Baby is also inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid in order to help develop his lungs. Baby is also continuing to put on some fat. Since our baby is a boy, his testicles should begin to descend into his scrotum - which takes about two to three months!
Weight Gain: 16 pounds
How I Feel: Well, after Dayton's party this weekend I'm feeling a little exhausted. I'm sure I'll bounce back soon. As far as my cold...I think it's just about gone! Today is the first day I haven't blown my nose 1,000 times. Yay!! On another note, I'm feeling good as far as pregnancy goes. I am so thankful to be pregnant and the minor things I could complain about just aren't worth it.
- Stretch marks: none
- Belly button: popped out
- Other: For memory sake, my legs and feet swell if I've been standing to long. I feel a lot of pressure "down there" when I've been standing and my stomach is always hard and sore in the mornings - like he's rolling around all night or kicking me or something similar.
Food Aversions: fish
Movement: Little man is moving around quite a bit. I suspect that he may have flipped because of the feel of some of the movement. It felt like his little hands were tickling my ribs one afternoon! Who knows though. I'll find out at my next appointment!
Sleep: sleeping great
Best Moment This Week: Dayton's party on Saturday. I have an adorable two year old and another baby boy growing in my tummy. I couldn't be any more thankful or happy!
Looking Forward to: my next appointment. We'll get an ultrasound at my 28 week appointment to check on baby's kidneys and the fluid level in my uterus. I'm excited to see little babe and nervous about the results as well. Now that we're a little closer to the appointment, I'm getting a little anxious!
What I Miss: nothing much
Diet: still clean eating 80/20. This weekend I ate terrible though! I had about four cupcakes and five rice krispie treats between Saturday and Sunday. No joke. And they were delicious!
Exercise: I am working out using the short cut to shred program. Most days cover two muscle groups. I can handle all of the days except for the shoulders and legs day. I have decided to split the day up into two days and do more extensive leg work. Trust me, my legs need it. The first place I gain weight is my rear and legs when I'm pregnant. I've been working so hard to keep it off this time. I'm still running intervals at 7 mph (8.30 minute miles). Running still feels great so I plan to keep it up!
What's Happening This Week: This week should be much more relaxed, whew! Lord knows I need it. Monday night we have nothing going on (yay!), Tuesday we are hosting small group at our house. Wednesday is Brad's final for his Master's class. Thursday we have Dayton's 2 year check up and the United Way Thank You dinner. Friday we have an at-home date night per our new tradition. The weekend is supposed to be 75 degrees and sunny!! Yes, finally!! Saturday night we have a double date with our good friends Kate and Ryan after church. Yep, we're going to church for the Saturday night service when we can. We are both hoping it frees up our Sunday, I get to sleep in one more day, and we'll actually get a rest day!
