Bumpdate ~ Week 37

Surprise! You're 37 weeks and 2 days pregnant and you're having a baby tonight. Whoa. I walked in to my 37 weeks appointment and never left! Our little man was born Tuesday night. So, this is officially my last Bumpdate. More on his birth story later...
  • Week 37
  • Baby is the size of a : Baby!
  • Weight : 7 lb. 3 oz. / Length :  20  in.
  • Baby Dayton was born at 7:25 pm on April 8, 2014! Baby and Momma are doing great!

Gender: BOY!

Weight Gain: Total weight gain was 34 pounds! Not too bad.

How I Feel: I'm feeling great! Now that the "scary" part is over and little man is in my arms. My incision is sore, but nothing too bad. My uterus contracting...now that's a different story. Ouch! And the "massages" that the nurses give you? Eeek!
  • Stretch marks: None! Yaaaaaay!
  • Belly button: It never popped out all the way, just a little part!
  • Other: It feels weird not being pregnant anymore.I already miss it!
How Daddy's Feeling: Daddy is in heaven just lovin' on his baby boy.

Cravings: Food!

Food Aversions: None.

Movement: Little man eats and sleeps. He makes the cutest faces I have ever seen...although, I'm a little biased. My favorite face is his kissy lips. He pokes his lips out like he's going to give you a kiss and just holds them there! We have yet to capture it on camera.

Sleep: Night #1 I slept a total of an hour. I was up with the babe all night. The hubs said every time he rolled over, I was doing something with the baby. Yep, sure was! and I was stuck in my hospital bed trying to do all of that too. Night #2 was better and this week keeps getting better each night!

Best Moment This Week: Holding my precious baby.

Worst Moment This Week: Having a c-section. Boo.

Looking Forward to: My 4 month maternity leave!!

What I Miss: Being pregnant.

Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
  • Monday...hoping baby would come just a little early.
  • Tuesday...being scared to death that something would happen to my baby until he was safe in my arms.
  • Wednesday - Thursday...trying to let it sink in that my baby was here - 3 weeks early, safe and sound!
  • Honestly, I also went through a grieving process because I did not get to have a natural birth. I was not happy about having to have a c-section, but it was the safest choice for my baby and that is all that mattered. It was hard for me, emotionally, to process that I would not get to have a natural birth. Still makes me upset when I think about it. I broke down on Friday morning and cried about it and the hubs was with me every tear (more on this subject later). He really is the best. He understands, felt the same, and was so empathetic. What would I do without that man?
Diet: Eating everything in sight?! Good thing we have healthy stuff at our house. I have been starving!!

Exercise: I did get to the gym on Sunday and Monday for my normal workouts. Obviously, since having Dayton I haven't been to the gym. The hubs and I did get out for a walk on Saturday though - 4 days after surgery. Yep - and I loved every minute of it! I can't just sit around!!

What's Happening This Week: Well, we had a baby on Tuesday, went home early on Thursday, and have been enjoying loving on our baby, figuring out a schedule, feeding, sleeping, and getting as many snuggles as I can!
