Bumpdate ~ Week 36

36 weeks came and flew right by. Seriously...these weeks are flying! We're pretty much ready and at this point, if Baby D comes early I will not be disappointed! Here's the synopsis of my 36 week appointment:
  • heart beat: 130 bpm
  • tummy: 36 cm (right on target...not a week big any more!)
  • dilating? Nope. Still closed.
Doc says everything looks good and to just be aware of any contractions that I am having, even Braxton Hicks contractions - which have become a little more frequent, but not consistent or painful. Doc also said that I get to my due date, we will have an ultrasound to check on Baby and then the longest they'll let me go is a week. They don't want to induce me (good - because I don't want to be induced), she said they would rather Baby come naturally! Let's hope that baby doesn't come a week late and that he comes naturally!
  • Week 36
  • Baby is the size of a : canary melon
  • Weight : 5.8 lb. / Length :  18.7  in.
  • Baby will gain a little less from now until birth. He is mostly putting on the protective fat layer now. Baby's gums have little ridges that look slightly like teeth now. Baby is sleeping about 90% of the time. There isn't too much room to move around, but mom still feels regular movements.

Gender: BOY!

Weight Gain: Apparently I'm retaining water now. The scale went up about 3 pounds this week. The Dr. said it's definitely water weight. Boo...I don't feel swollen?!

How I Feel: Overall, feeling really well. Back pain has been my worst symptom this week. I start ok in the morning, but by the time I get home from the gym my back is really sore. Being up on my feet with the kiddos all day does not help! I noticed that my back does pop out of place more easily. The chiropractor has been a God-send! I hate to spend the money each week, but I might be making weekly visits till little man comes. We shall see what I can get through!
  • Stretch marks: None. Woohoo!
  • Belly button: Just a little section has popped out.
  • Other: I can still wear my rings and my hands and feet don't feel or look swollen, but my chiropractor noticed more fluid in my wrists when he was adjusting them.
How Daddy's Feeling: The hubs has been really busy getting ready for baby. We've gotten the nursery mostly done, he's done some painting for the room decor and shelves for me and has been asking what else he can do on the to-do list to get ready. He even packed his hospital bag!...at least what he could of it. This weekend he cleaned out my car, vacuumed it, polished it, and then put in the car seat! He's so cute.

Cravings: None. Just spicy food!

Food Aversions: None.

Movement: Baby is moving a little less "spastic-ally," but is still moving the most after dinner at night. We still get a kick out of watching my tummy roll around and just shake our heads when he is pushing out the right side of my belly. It looks so weird to see all of him on the right side and my belly looking really lop-sided! I need to take a picture of it one of these times...

Sleep: Sleeping very well and sleeping a lot! The weekend have been such a great time for me to sleep in and get some extra rest. It's needed! The hubs gets up with the dogs around 7 am and let's me sleep as late as I want.

Best Moment This Week: My sweet class and my room moms threw me a Baby Shower. It was adorable and my class made me the cutest gift. I love them!

Worst Moment This Week: Back pain. Boo.

Looking Forward to: Having a baby!! and seeing our little man's face.

What I Miss: Not really anything this week. Just counting down the days!

Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
  •  I just keep trying to prepare myself mentally for having a natural birth. I know my body can do it and I feel like I am as prepared as I can be. Keep me in your prayers!
Diet: Still clean eating 80/20, although it's harder to resist those sweets than normal lately for some reason.

Exercise: I've decided that this will be my last week of lifting heavy. I've upped my weight over the past few weeks and it has felt so good to feel strong and see the changes in my body. I can tell my arms are back to being tones and my legs are as well! Not working out for the 1st trimester was hard on my mentally and I feel like I've been playing catch up since!

However, I do want my body to be prepared for labor. I don't want my muscles to be fatigued or sore, so this is my last week of lifting heavy. I will still lift lighter weights like normal in the next few weeks, but I want to save some energy! This is also my last week running since it is now become painful near my pelvic bones.

Workouts this week:
  • Sun: chest (5 exercises, 3 sets of 10 reps) and 30 minutes of cardio
  • Mon: back (6 exercises, 3 sets of 10 reps) and 30 minutes of cardio
  • Tues: rest day
  • Wed: 60 minutes of cardio
  •  Thurs: shoulders (5 exercises, 3 sets of 10 reps) and 30 minutes of cardio
  • Fri: 60 minutes of cardio
  • Sat: leg day (4 exercises, 3 sets of 10 reps) and 30 minutes of cardio
What's Happening This Week: Not too much happened this week. Same old same old happenings. However, the hubs has been super busy at work and worked almost 60 hours this week! Monday was normal, Tuesday we went to our breastfeeding class (we debated the need for this, but I am glad that we went!), Wednesday the hubs had class, Thursday was normal, Friday we met up with some friends for dinner, and Saturday was a busy "to-do" list day and a relaxing date night at home!
