I am trying my best to slow down and just enjoy every little kick, bump, punch, and roll that my sweet baby gives me. I love feeling him move around in there. It's sooo weird, but so great all at the same time! This has to be one of the best things about being pregnant. I am seriously loving it all! I know some people have really bad pregnancies and my 1st Trimester was not peachy, but I feel like I've had it pretty easy and I am loving every second of it!
- Week 21
- Baby is the size of a : cantaloupe
- Weight : 13 oz. / Length : 11 in. (from crown to heel)
- Baby looks very much now like he will when he is born, only smaller! He may be busy sucking his thumb, yawning, or kicking up a storm. Hair is growing on his head and facial features have formed. A strong stethoscope could hear his strong heart beat this week. Baby's bone marrow is making blood cells right now and his intestines are absorbing small amounts of sugar from the amniotic fluid. Baby is now able to blink his eyes and the eyelashes and eyebrows are formed as well!
Gender: BOY!
Weight Gain: I haven't been weighing myself, but I don't think it's too much more than before since I have been lifting and running more. I can feel my more "toned body" coming back (muscle has good memory!) and I feel leaner. I would say anywhere between 12-15 pounds.
How I Feel: Pretty tired! but between last week and this week we have been crazy busy. I kind of feel like I am running around like a fool and just getting through this week. My appetite is in full swing though! I am "starving" every 1-2 hours. Keeping healthy snacks close by like fruit and veggies have helped!
- Stretch marks: None.I can now swear by Tummy Butter.
- Belly button: Just a matter of days till that baby pops out.
- Other: My poor poor back. If I could go to the chiropractor every day, I think I would! I think my left hip/back keeps popping out of place. It's been a little painful.
Clothing: Maternity clothes. My growing belly definitely needs it now more than before! I prefer the longer shirts for full coverage. Ain't nobody wantin' to see pregnant belly skin. Ick.
Cravings: Not really anything new.
Food Aversions: Sweets. It's pretty easy for me not to participate in anything sweets related. I just walk on by... Not for me!
Movement: Lots of kicks, punches, and rolling around going on in there. The best time of day for movement has been from 8-10 am. Poor hubs is never with me then, except for Saturday and Sunday.
Sleep: Sleep? not a problem. I sleep great! Waking up is the problem.
Best Moment This Week: Everyone knowing Baby Bishop is a BOY!! Now I can freely say "he" and don't have to keep it a secret! It was reeeaaallly hard to not let it slip that we knew Baby was a boy since 16 weeks!!
Worst Moment This Week: Not really any bad moments, other than my aching back ha!
Looking Forward to: Everything about Christmas!! Especially Christmas break!! 1. More. Day.
I can't wait to spend Christmas with the hubs family (love them!!) and get some good quality Sister time in.
Christmas time also means that the hubs and I get to go on our getaway. Whoop! for an adventurous Babymoon!
What I Miss:I don't really have an answer for this one this week...
Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
- My Baby BOY. I'm going to have a son. Eek!
- Baby Room... The colors are orange, navy blue, grey, and white. This photo was my inspiration! And yes, there will be a giant monogram on the wall! We're also going to have the orange and white paint, as well as the molding on the walls like the picture. I adore it!! I am totally obsessed with this room and I can't wait to get started!
- I've found some bedding that I like, but I'm going to keep looking (since we have time) just in case I find something I like more.
- We are going to have a dark brown crib instead of the grey. There is a set at Target that we have our eye on and are pretty happy with!
Diet: 80% clean eating, 20% cheat meals/snacks.I can't tell you how great I feel with clean eating. I know that not eating all that crap is making a huge difference (as always).
Exercise: Still working out and feeling great! My workouts are going really well and I can feel my body responding to them after just a little over 4 weeks. I have noticed the biggest difference in my legs and stomach. There is a serious baby bump going on, but I can still see my top 2 abs!! Yes! Healthy pregnancy + staying lean = Happy Me! I'm still lifting weights and doing cardio 5 days a week, one rest day, and one cardio day.
Inside Pregnancy ~ Week 21
