Okay...so I have a little confession to make. We actually found out that Baby was a Boy at 16 weeks!!! Yep, we've kept our secret for 4 weeks!!! We asked the Doctor at our 16 week appointment if we could find out early so that we would be able to tell my parents in person (finally, something!!) at Thanksgiving. Now that was a fun early Christmas present! I was so so so happy to finally be able to share something with my family in person. It's not always easy being so far away. We ended up waiting to announce to everyone else after our 20 week appointment so that we could confirm our Man Child. Yep, definitely a Boy!!
Doc said that everything looks great and Little Man is growing exactly the way he should be! Our ultrasound took about 10 minutes and we were able to see every tiny little bit of our son. We even got to have a 3D ultrasound and sonogram pictures. Little Man was opening and closing his mouth...it was SO COOL!!! I could have watched him all day. Then we met with the Doctor. We are still in the process of meeting all 5 of then Doctor's at our office. I liked the Doctor we had today, and she agreed that I could definitely continue working out and running!! As long as I don't get too out of breath. She suggested intervals (which I'm doing). She said most women stop running around 30 weeks, but I can run as long as I want or until it's too uncomfortable. Woohoo! Overall, best appointment yet!
- Week 20
- Baby is the size of a : mango (from crown to heel)
- Weight : 13 oz. / Length : 10.5 in. (from crown to rump) the length of a banana
- At week 20, we can start measuring from head to heel! Previously, Baby's legs were so curled up that it is hard to see how long they are! Baby will be developing more regular sleep patterns and soon I will be able to notice them. The placenta has reached it's maximum thickness and is giving Baby all of his nutrients.
Gender: BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Weight Gain: Not sure. Maybe 10-12 pounds still?
How I Feel: I've been feeling pretty well. I've been sleeping well (not getting enough, but sleeping well when I am!), I have more energy, and working out 5-6 days a week! It's definitely getting a little harder to move around like bending over, putting on socks, etc. I'm not used to having a belly!
- Stretch marks: None.
- Belly button: Ha the top is starting to get puffy...soon!
- Other: My back...my aching back!
Cravings: I can't enough carrots and light ranch dip this week! Yum!
Food Aversions: None.
Movement: Little man is moving quite a bit and I notice it most during the day now. I wish I would feel some at night so that the hubs could try to feel it too! The kicks and punches are much more distinct now and I feel him even when I am up and moving around!
Sleep: My back always is achy at night, so I am having to sleep with a pillow between my legs. I really need to get one of those pregnancy pillows asap!
Best Moment This Week: Confirming that Baby is a BOY!!!
Worst Moment This Week: Not having my Family at our Gender Reveal Party. Thank goodness that Brad's family is so close!
Looking Forward to: Having Daddy feel our little guy moving around!
What I Miss: Jimmy Johns. Every now and then, it's nice to have a deli sandwich. It's ok...totally worth it!
Pregnancy Thoughts this Week:
- Baby's initials are DTB. Can't wait to monogram! Don't worry, there's a boy monogram.
- I can't wait to start the Baby room!! Room colors will be orange, navy blue, grey, and white. Can't wait!!!
- I just can't explain how happy and content I/We are right now. It's amazing and God is so so good!
Exercise:Weight lifting and 30 minutes of cardio 5 days of the week and 60 minutes of cardio on the 6th day. I am hoping to start posting my weekly workouts if anyone else that's pregnant out there is interested!
