I wasn't quite sure how I would do your updates, but I figured that I would wait until 15 months so that I have plenty to talk about and it would coincide with your next doctor's appointment - which will be later this month. Turns out, I have a ton to talk about because you are growing and changing so much! Look how grown he looks!
Cutest 15 month old in the whole world. I mean, seriously, he is just perfectly beautiful.
At 15 months...
- Since you started walking at 11 months, you prefer to walk everywhere. You do still let me hold you, but you are much more happy to walk next to me or holding my hand.
- Speaking of, it melts my heart when you walk to me and reach out your hand to hold mine.
- You are a major mama's boy. I mean, you prefer me over everyone else. I'm not going to lie, I love it! I think it annoys your daddy sometimes, but you do love playing with him too.
- Daddy (and I and well, everyone else) loves it when you give them hugs.
- You love to tell everyone that we see, "Hi." No matter where we are you smile, wave, and say "hi" to everyone that you pass. Cutest. thing. ever.
- You give mama kisses and it is so sweet!
- You wave "hi" and "bye bye" and blow kisses.
- You give squeezy hugs.
- You are a cuddle bug. You love morning cuddles, after nap cuddles, and random cuddles and hugs throughout the day. You always lay your head on my shoulder and put your arms around my neck to cuddle. It's your spot.
- You give the cutest "cheesy" grin when we ask for it (and when we don't!)
- You point at everything.
- You love to open and close doors. Especially when you open or close them on dada.
- You love to dance. You sway side to side, bounce up and down, go up on your toes (calf raises), and turn in circles.
- You love to sing as much as you love to dance. If there is music playing, you are probably humming.
- You love to read. Your favorite books are That's not my Lion, Dr. Seuss' ABC, Barnyard Dance, and I Love you Through and Through (that one is mama's favorite too). You bring me books, sit in my lap, and hold up the book for me to read. I find you reading all. of. the. time.
- You love chasing daddy. You're so close to running! It kind of looks like you're "falling" into running. It's hard to describe. You're definitely getting faster!!
- Every morning, we have to walk through the house to see if dada is home. You want to see every room.
- You freak out (smiles and laughs) when dada gets home.
- You are climbing on, around, under, over, across everything! Most of the time you're pretty brave, but when you get stuck I'm sure to hear "mama!"
- You love putting things in and out of containers. You take them out and then you drop them back in.
- You are actually really good at following directions! Usually when I ask you to do something, you do it. Daddy and I are making sure we give you lots of positive reinforcement when you listen!
- It is amazing how much you understand. I am continually surprised by how much you understand when I tell you something or when I ask you to do something.
- You are very independent. You won't let me feed you, unless you get tired of feeding yourself.
- You eat with a spoon! and you leave a plate on the table (for the most part) instead of dumping it over or off of the table.
- You eat everything. We haven't found anything that you absolutely will not eat.
- You love playing with the dogs. You're pretty good at "petting" them and not "hitting" them.
- You know what gentle means.
- You love playing with your neighborhood friends and your daycare friends. You always yell when you see Livi or Walker.
- You love your cozy coupe car. I think you would spend the whole day in it if you could.
- You also still really love naps. I think you wait all morning just to take your afternoon nap.
- You didn't use to love walking in grass, but now you run around in it and purposefully try to get into it.
- You love balls! You want to throw them, kick them, chew on them, and hold them.
- You love to pick up things and hand them to me or your daddy. You also like to try and give us your food and feed us.
- If you are holding something and I ask you if I can have it, 90% of the time you give it right to me. It makes me so proud.
- You are already trying to be helpful.
- You might be the happiest little boy I have ever met in my life. I'm absolutely certain that you are the sweetest and the cutest.
15 month update:
Size | About 27 lbs. and about 32 inches tall.
Words | mama, dada, ball, this, doggie, and a lot of baby "talking"
Activity | walking, almost running, climbing in and on everything, playing independently, reading books, and putting things in and out of containers
Food | You eat everything that we eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I give you a sippy cup of whole milk (organic) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At snack time you get milk or water. You still love to eat and you haven't refused anything yet! You also eat with a spoon!
Teeth |
Hair and Eyes | Your hair has turned blond from the sun and your eyes are the most beautiful dark brown. Your hair is pretty thing and you have the
Sleep: You are an amazing sleeper. You almost never, ever wake up at night. You go to sleep on your own. I kiss you goodnight and you lay down in your crib and fall asleep.
Bedtime/Naps/Wake time: You generally go to bed between 7:15-7:30 pm. You usually nap from around 12:45-3 or 3:30 pm. You usually wake up between 7:30-8 am. Lucky mama!
Clothes | Some 12-18 month clothes, but mostly 18 month clothes.
Diaper | Size 4
Personality | You are one happy kid. I mean, don't get me wrong you have your moments, but overall you are a happy, silly, laid back, easy going kiddo. You do throw fits, but they usually last less than a minute or two. Day after day, it just surprises me how happy you are. You smile at everything, laugh all of the time, and melt my heart every. single. day with your sweetness and love.
Likes | Mama, Dada, the pups, balls, your car, reading, taking walks, playing outside, your water table, your slide, saying "hi," waving, blowing kisses, playing with your friends, legos, your ABC dog, playing with cords, playing with bottles, toilet paper, taking baths, playing with Tupperware, playing peek-a-boo, and chasing daddy and mama around the house.
Dislikes | Getting your diaper changed, being hungry, being tired, when mama takes things away from you, when you get stuck from crawling under things, and you fuss when I won't hold you when you want me to.
Schedule:
- wake up between 7:30-8 am
- 8:15 am - breakfast
- 9:00 am - playing outside, errands, crafts, reading, and directed play time
- 9:30 am - snack
- 9:30-11 am - playing outside, errands, crafts, reading, and directed play time
- 11:30 am - lunch
- 12:30 pm - nap time
- 3:30 pm - snack
- 3:45-5:45 pm - playing outside, errands, crafts, reading, and directed/independent play time
- 5:45 pm - dinner
- 6:30 pm - outside play time or family walk
- 7:00 pm - bed time routine - bath time, reading books, sippy cup of milk, prayers
- 7:15-7:30 pm - bedtime
DayDay, these past 15 months have been the best months of my life. You bring so much happiness, laughter, and love into our home. You have completely stolen our hearts! We love you to the moon and back, sweet baby boy!
