Bishop Weekend Shenanigans [V. 1]

Since this little blog is my "online journal" of our lives and since the weekends usually always hold some good memories, I decided to start writing about our weekends. Even if it's a quiet weekend spent at home with the hubs and the pups, I want to cherish and remember all of those sweet memories!

July 12-14, 2013

On Friday...the hubs and I both took off the afternoon so that we could head down to Des Moines early and go shopping. (That shopping part was his idea and I was not about to complain!) He wanted "some polos that fit" and I needed some more summer shirts...now that it is actually warm in Iowa.

We got there later than we expected, so we went right to the Jordan Creek Mall and shopped! Mission accomplished. The cheesecake factory was attached to the mall, so we stopped in there for some dinner. We had crab dip, spicy chicken sandwich (me), macaroni hamburger (Brad), sweet potato fries, and we ordered 2 pieces of cheesecake to go: chocolate fudge cake cheesecake and red velvet cheesecake (my favorite). Delish. We went to our hotel with all of our goodies, enjoyed the hot-tub, and turned in early.
shopping goodies...black and white, turquoise, and green!
On Saturday...we had to get up early (6:30 am) to get to the Color Run with a 9 am start time! I ran the Color Run with my friend Kate and her sister Kara. We accomplished that mission as well...get drenched in color! See more about out Color Run and a free tip here. After the run ended (well, when we got done) it was already 11:30 am!! That took a while. Brad and I grabbed some lunch and headed home. When we got home, I cleaned up, made some fruit pizza cups, and we headed out to Jessup to Kate and Ryan's house for Jessup Farmer's Days. We cooked out at their house and then they headed out to the tents. Brad and I had to be up early, so we went home instead.

On Sunday...it was Brad and I's week to serve in our church nursery. We work in the 12-18 month old room. We had about 7 kids at the 9 am service and they were all sooooo good! No one cried and we had a good time. I think Brad is starting to like this...at least, he's getting really good at it! After church we did our usual grocery shopping and food prep for the week. The rest of my afternoon was spent doing homework for the 5 (yes, you read that correctly, 5!!) classes that I am taking...this month! We had a sand volleyball game at 6 pm, so we headed out to the courts and like our team name, "Served it Like a Boss." We won. Woo! Brad and I picked up some pizza and some Froyo and enjoyed a relaxing evening.

Overall...happy. I am one lucky girl.
