This Christmas, we drove 2 hours to Davenport where Brad's parents are. We stayed with his parents 2 nights and then it was time for the loooong drive to SC. Yes, the long drive, as in 14 hours...in the car.
Brad and I have made this trip about 6 times now. The Christmas 2012 Road Trip became our 7th (down) and 8th (and back).
The trip down to Gvill went pretty smoothly. We left around 7:00 am and got there around 9:00 pm. We stopped a few times for gas, bathroom breaks, lunch, and dinner. Not too bad. Weather was pretty good and the pups slept almost the entire time.
The trip back, however, was not. a. fun. time. Horrible. The morning started out about the same. We left a little before 7:00 am. Brad drove for about 4 hours and then I took over for about 3 hours. After we stopped for lunch, the trip went to the crapper...real quick. It started snowing (lightly, I might add) and everyone else started driving like they had never seen snow before in their lives.
Now, I'm a southern girl. I don't and have not - ever - driven in snow. I don't particularly like snow...other than to look at it through my window as a sit by my fireplace snuggled under a blanket with a nice cup of hot green tea with pomegranate. Anyways...people were driving terrible.
Brad ended up driving the rest of the way. We FINALLY stopped in Davenport at 10:30 pm at Brad's parents house to pick up our Christmas presents from the Bishop Christmas. Then it was another 2 hours to home. Brad drove, bless his heart, and I kept him awake through stimulating conversation. Obviously.
There weren't a ton of spectacular pictures from the road trip, but I thought the ones that I did take (on my iPhone only...sorry) were worth the post! Especially, the pictures of the pups!!
