Living Room Updates and Painting ~ #1

As most of you know, the hubs and I moved into our brand spankin' new house this past November. Amongst all of the holidays craziness, our Christmas party, and traveling, we quickly got unpacked and threw things on the walls.

Well, not that the holidays are over and we can actually BE in our house on the weekends long enough to get some work done, we are now painting, decorating, and well ~ just making it ours.

We started by painting the fireplace wall. Our fireplace is gorgeous. I love it. It decorates our living room perfectly! The only problem, our living room is a wide-open space of white-ish colors. So we decided..."It needs some paint." We had painted an "accent" wall in our house living room of our house in South Carolina. Loved it and the color! We have basically the same color scheme of decorating here, so we decided to guy buy the same color and pain an accent wall in our NEW living room.

We have a lot of other plans for our living room here, but we are being careful about out budget of decorating it. We are only changing/getting new things a little bit at a time each month. Our bedroom took up most of our budget this month, due to some naughty pups (see here). So, we didn't get as much done in the living room as we would have liked.

I've also been utilizing my ability to be obsessed with Pinterest/crafts/DIY to add some decorations to our empty walls. I absolutely LOVE this one and even Brad was pretty happy about it too!

The best part about this frame set is...1) It has a monogram (which will be updated soon to the 3 letter scroll monogram) and 2) I can change out the pictures soooo easily! They're just a print and a clip away! I've already changed them about once a week!

I also made a few changed to our mantle, so that we could have a seasonal mantle. Obviously, this is winter, so my color scheme was: white, tans, browns, and silver.

The "snow globes" in the middle are glass vases that I painted white, used spray glue, and covered in "snow."

We are also working on making a Gallery wall on the large wall that is near our living room - this will take us some time though! We used the area above the stairs to start our Gallery of photos. We used only black and white photos here, so that they would match our "Bishop" picture/sign. The frames that we used for the pictures, however, are the frames that will cover the wall near the stairs! I'm SO excited about this wall!! Soon to come...I hope!

Welp, that's all for now. We have put up drapes in the living room...well, one of them. They just came in the mail this week. Brad put up one of them to make sure it was where I wanted it and hasn't had time to put up the second one! Hopefully, it will go up tonight!!

We will be painting our bedroom this weekend, then I can put up pictures of our bedroom and how we have decorated that!
