Christmas Week in the South

I once read, "Make fun of the south all you want, but I don't hear anyone saying, "When I retire, I'm moving to the north." Um...no. South ~ I love you and miss you bunches! xoxo

So, as seen in a previous post (click here), we spent Christmas day and week with my family in South Carolina. Woo! During the week, Brad and I shopped, spent time with friends and family, and enjoyed being back in OUR city. I love Greenville. It's just a good place to live. Along with my family being there, it has a little bit of everything and you canNOT beat the downtown. It's perfect!

Brad and I tried to fit in as much as we could while we were in Greenville. We spent all of Christmas Eve and Christmas day with our family, of course, but had planned to go to the outlet malls in Gaffney for the "Day After Christmas" shopping. Now that was a good idea!, even though no one else wanted to go with us. I am spoiled, and got lots of loot!

Wednesday night, my family (mom, dad, me, hubs, sister, and bro-in-law) all went to our favorite Italian restaurant. Now, it is pretty hard to please my family when it comes to Italian food...seeing as how we have quite a bit of Italian in us, but this place...oh. my. stars!! AMAZING!! Delaventura's is THE place to go in Greenville for real, authentic, from scratch Italian food...oh yea, and canollis!!

Thursday morning we got up and went to the gym. It was pretty fun seeing my dad in the gym. I take after my dad and weight lifting (along with guns) has always been a daddy/daughter thing for us. My mom had thought ahead, because she knows us so well, and gotten Brad, my dad, and I passes to her gym for the whole week! After that, we did a little more shopping, then it was off to dinner with our old neighbors, Andrew and Nilsa, whom we love dearly. These 2 are awesome. We became friends with them pretty quickly. They babysat Belle a few times and even came to our wedding. Worlds. Best. Neighbors.

Friday was a nice day to spend with the fam doing family things. I sure do miss them. My sister, mom, Brad, and I went to the Greenville mall Thursday afternoon to help me look for brown boots after the "boot fiasco of 2012" (long story). Anyways, we found some!! Jessica Simpson boots. Love. Love. Love!! Then it was off to dinner at one Brad and I's favorite restaurants...Miaybi's. It's a Japanese hibachi/sushi place where they cook in front of you. Yummo!

Saturday was the long drive home. Overall, wonderful :) I love my family! and the south...a whole lot.
