Poor baby. He got his first ear infection. And it was a doozy too.
Friday afternoon I got a text from Miss Karyn at daycare saying that Dayton had a 101.5 fever. I called my AP and he said they would cover my class so that I could leave. I brought little man home and we spent the night cuddling. Saturday we got up - no fever. We had planned to go to the Iowa State game that day, so we went ahead and went! I mean, he didn't have a fever and it was a nice day out. We had a great time and little man loved it! Sunday, same thing. No fever. Kiddo was in a good mood all day.
Monday morning when I got baby D up, he was a little groggy. He didn't want to eat his cereal, but he nursed well. Then he fell asleep on the bed while I was getting ready. I picked him up to go and he was burning up. I took his temperature (101.3) and then called the hubs. I had to leave, like then, to get to work on time and I absolutely could not call a sub at 7:45 am. Brad said he would finish up his staff meeting and then would come home to stay with Dayton. I called the Dr's office and made an appointment for my poor baby. Brad got home at 8:30 am and I got to work at 8:40 am as the kiddos walked in the door. Whew!

| Now that is the face of a sick little baby. |
Turns out, Dayton had an ear infection and it was a nasty one. Our Dr is not big on medicine, so when he prescribed 10 days of amoxicillin, we knew it was bad. Daddy stayed home with Dayton all day Monday, and I wrote sub plans so that I could stay home with him on Tuesday. Lil' bit had to be fever free for 24 hours before he could go back to daycare. Tuesday Day and I hung out and he was pretty much back to his normal self. Wednesday it was back to daycare. Bless his little heart.
