Hawaii - Day 6: Lahaina, Maui

The next few days in Hawaii were all about the bride and the groom ~ my best friend Melissa and her soon to be husband, Joe!! Melissa and I have been best friends for...forever. She's my longest, closest, best friend. She was my Maid of Honor and I was so glad to be able to share her wedding with her as well!

Hawaii ~ Day 6: Lahaina, Maui

Friday, April 25
Friday morning we woke up and had planned on taking the Road to Hana tour. Welp, the bridal party decided they didn't want to sit in a car for 5 hours - mainly because they had just been sitting on a plane for 8 hours the previous day. So, we all kind of "did our own thing." Melissa, Effie, and Brad and I went to "explore" the coat line right outside of Melissa's villa. We had bathing suits on under our shorts and shirts, so we climbed on the lava rocks, walked through the water, climbed up and down "cliffs" and enjoyed the amazing scenery and views of the ocean.I'd say we got some pretty awesome BFF pictures :) I sure do love that girl! I mean...who else would climb all over the place with me?

Oh and while we were out climbing on the lava rocks and the coral...I did this! Awesome right? No. This thing caused quite a few problems for the next week or so including, but not limited to: trying to walk in heels, trying to walk in general, snorkeling, infection, swelling, not being able to run for a week, etc. Gag.

After we climbed around and explored, the girls headed out for some lunch, shopping, and the bride's last hours of single girl time! Brad and Melissa's brothers and their significant others all went to the beach. The girls ate lunch at Captain Jacks, which was delicious! We shopped in all of the little adorable shops along the beach, got some gelato (yum!!), and enjoyed our girl time!

We headed back to the villas to clean up and head on over to the pool next to Melissa's villa. Instead of having a rehearsal dinner...we had a "rehearsal grill out" by the pool! It was fabulous. We took pictures, grilled kabobs, ate a hearty meal, and of course had a few drinks and some good conversation. We all called it a night around 11 pm since the Wedding was at 10 am the next morning!
