We Went, We Visitied, and then we became Members

One hard thing about moving, is finding a new church. We were so blessed to have joined and been a part of North Hills Community Church in Greenville, SC. It was so hard to leave the friends and pastors we had developed relationships with there.

But, God has a plan. Part of that plan for us was moving to Iowa. So, the church searching began! We visited a few churches, but didn't feel like we belonged in any of them. Around October, we visited Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls. We felt at home on Day 1.

Brad and I started faithfully attending Prairie Lakes each week. Prairie Lakes offers 3 different service times: 6:00 pm Saturday night, 9:00 am, and 10:45 am on Sunday mornings. We like going to the 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday. The first thing we noticed about PL, was the preaching. The Pastor was very enthusiastic, was easy to follow, yet he always delivered some "meat" that we could dwell on throughout the week. We loved the music. We loved what we learned about the Children's Ministry. We wanted to find a church, that eventually, our whole family would grow in. And we found it!

Brad and I attended the Membership meeting in January and then later that month gave our testimonies to the elders. We have both already been baptized, but we enjoyed the baptismal service. It's always wonderful to see what God has done in others lives! As of February 24, 2013, Brad and I are officially members of Prairie Lakes Church!

We also started serving in the Wee Kids ministry. I love working with and being around little ones, so this was a perfect opportunity for us to give back! Brad and I serve once a month in the 12-18 month old room. Our first time serving was this past Sunday. It was pretty hard to get up at 6:30 a.m. to make it to the early morning huddle and service, but we did it! We only had one baby!! I think between the time change and the rain, most people decided to attend the 11:00 am service! At least Brad saw a baby...ha!

We are looking forward to joining a small group on Sunday nights, so that we can meet more members as well as grow our spiritual relationships. God is so good and has provided us with a wonderful church!
