Apple Picking

Oh, hey fall! Since I'm home on maternity leave I wanted to take the boys on as many memory-making activities we could go on. So I started our fall bucket list. One item on our bucket list was apple picking. It took us a little longer than I would have liked to, but we went! The boys and I drove down a little past Cedar Rapids to pick some apples at Wilson's Orchard. The drive was a little longer than we would have liked, but we got there and Dayton was really excited about it!

We got our apple picking basket, hiked up to the last few trees that actually had apples and started hunting for some good ones. We didn't find too many, but we did get enough to make a homemade apple crisp. Dayton loved picking the apples off of the trees and now he gets where they come from - which is part of the reason I wanted to take him. I want him to have experiences. I want him to learn "life" first hand. I'm really glad I've been home this long so that I can take him on these excursions. I have absolutely loves this time with my boys!
