Dayton ~ 6 Months

Day,

My sweet baby boy. Every day with you gets sweeter and sweeter. Your daddy and I love watching you grow and change right in front of our eyes. I cannot explain to you how much joy you have brought into our lives. We love getting you up in the morning, cuddling with you, picking you up/coming home to you and your sweet smiles, and playing together as a family. You make each day special.

You are getting quite the little personality. I think you're going to be a pretty easy going, happy kiddo. At least, that's how you are now. We see that little stubborn personality coming out, though. Don't worry, you got it from us and I don't know if you can get any more stubborn than us. Fell free to try though. :) Personally, it makes me laugh watching you try to do your own thing baby. Keep it up little man. It's good for you and mama and daddy love that part of you too.

We think you're pretty funny lil' bit. You smile all the time. And I mean, all of the time. What I love the most? You save your biggest smiles for us. I look over at you and without fail, you smile back at me. You and your daddy have some pretty funny games with your smiles and giggles. You both just melt me. I love how happy and content you are little man. You're making life pretty easy for us. It makes me a little worried for how future siblings will act. You've spoiled us! But, thanks for making our lives easy baby. We love you to the moon and back!

Love,
Mama

Size: 18 lb

Hair: Dark brown. I hope you grow some more hair soon.

Eyes: Dark brown.

Teeth: 2 teeth on the bottom. It is way too cute.

Food: You still love to eat! Although, September was kind of a rough month for you, so you went through a few phases where you weren't too excited about eating. You always bounced back though. We added fruit to your diet. You've had apples, bananas, pears, and avocados. You love apples the most - just like your mama! You weren't a fan of bananas the first 5-6 tries, but you've gotten used to them and you like them now. You really like your rice cereal, which is fine with me! I am still making your baby food and loving it, so far! We feed you only organic fruits, veggies, and rice cereal. We want to keep your diet as clean and natural ass possible for as long as possible.

You're schedule is about the same:
6 am - nurse, 2 tbsp. whole grain rice cereal (organic) (sometimes)
9 am - 5 oz breast milk
12 pm - 5 oz breast milk, 2 oz. veggies, 2 oz. fruit, 2 tbsp. rice cereal
3 pm - 9 am - 5 oz breast milk
5:30 pm -  nurse, 2 oz. veggies, 2 oz. fruit, 2 tbsp. rice cereal
7:30 pm - nurse

You are still enjoying and doing well with nursing, for which I am so thankful for. It's our special time and I know it's going to be so so hard for me to give that up at a year. I mean, I won't mind having some more time, but I love it when it's just you and me. I get in a lot of extra cuddles that way!

Sleep: As I said before, September was a hard month. You got your first ear infection, then you started teething, then you had fevers off and on, then you got pneumonia. Between being sick and teething, you stopped sleeping through the night. I got up with you about once a night while you were sick, but sometimes you got up 2-3 times a night. I was exhausted to say the least. You are sleeping through the night now, however and I am still trying to recuperate. I don't think I will take your sleeping through the night for granted ever again. This mama needs her sleep! You are back to sleeping about 9-10 hours a night.

Clothes: You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Words: You are making more noises and you have started to like to yell at us sometimes. It cracks us up! You mostly "yell" when you're in your bouncer. You're saying more sounds and about 1-2 syllables. You're pretty cute. We love listening to you babble.

Development/Activity: There is no doubt in my mind that you are going to be a busy little boy...because you already are! You are rolling all over the place, kick your legs all of the time, are trying to sit up, starting to army crawl, and enjoy being in your bouncer the most. You go nuts bouncing in that thing. I can't help but crack up at how happy you get bouncing around in that thing. You even pretend you're bouncing when we stand you up. Maybe you like bouncing because mama ran with you in her tummy. Just a thought!

Temperament: You're just happy. Most people comment very quickly at how content you are. I really enjoy when people comment on how content or happy you are while we're in the store. Someone says something almost every time we go out. You have yet to fuss while we're in a store. Fingers crossed and I'm knocking on wood right now.

Likes: You're pretty easy to please. You love playing with daddy. He gets you to laugh and smile so easily. You like being active on the floor, playing in your bouncer, reading books, cuddling, going to the store with mama, car rides, your toys, and playing with Livi.

Dislikes: You don't like being tired or hungry. That is for sure. Those are the times when you are fussy.

Small Moments: I think I have to stop and just be thankful this month. I am thankful for your health. September was a long month of you being sick and I don't really want to have to go back to the hospital, even though I am sure we will at some point. I am thankful that we caught your pneumonia early. I am thankful that you're a pretty good teething baby. I am thankful that you're back to healthy. I am just thankful - for you and that God has kept His protective hand over us throughout my pregnancy, your birth, and the first 6 months of your life. We are so incredibly blessed with good health.

And this is how the end of the 6 month photos went...
